I'm sorry to say my visit to mamitas wasnt what i was expecting. Ive been coming here for years for the great food hip music and reasonable prices with good service. When I arrived to the parking lot they told me there were no chairs available but I said I wanted to try anyway to get a chair. There weren't any on the beach but there were in the pool for 100.pesos more per chair. You used to just go sit down and pay the waiter bit since people weren't paying you have to prepay. I waited almost 40 minutes wasted from enjoying the beach because they only have 1 cashier. I was extremely annoyed at the wait. When I first came here they used to charge 3 bucks a chair.and youd just consume whatever and the prices were very reasonable. Ie about 10 to 13 bucks for a shrimp cocktail for 2. Anyway fyi 300 pesos or 18 dollars for EACH chair and you get back 150 pesos for consuming or 9 bucks each chair. But you must rent 2 chairs to get an umbrella. I'm fine paying for that since I get back half but I stayed in the pool for 100 pesos more or 6 bucks and I get the same.amount back for consuming or 150 pesos not 175. They have a VIP section with an adult pool.and dj. I recommend this option if you drink. The cost is 2000 pesos with 1700 pesos in food credit. 125 dollars and 100 dollars in credit. The atmosphere is very hip. It's great for people watching and you can even get a covered bed at a higher price. I ordered a large shrimp cocktail that was 10 bucks just a couple years ago. Now I paid a whopping 26 bucks for a 12 ounce cup and this was not jumbo shrimp and I doubt it was fished from the ocean but farmed instead because it's cheaper. It was delicious but I asked for more avocado because I ran out before eating half and they wanted to charge 1.50 dollars more for avocado. Avocados aren't cheap at a buck each but come on. I know they have to make a profit but this is ridiculous. Restaurants in Mexico normally bend over backwards to make you happy and not charge for small requests like this because Mexicans get offended by this kind of thing so easily. Many customers will take it too far though and ask you for the moon and the sun. My wife ordered a low.calorie chicken sandwich which was delicious and cost 150 pesos or 8 bucks which seemed way more reasonable. A 12 oz coke was 2.50.and not refillable. I really prefer other beach clubs like kool or canibal royal that give you more bang for your buck but you should have a great time with good food and service at mamitas just be prepared to pay more. I think el.paraiso is the best beach club in terms of value and they have the most spectacular beach but they are in tulum. I hope the owner of mamitas gets more cashiers or puts a flag on your table to show you paid for the chairs instead of making you wait 40 minutes to pay behind several people that didn't even end up renting anything. If you found this review helpful click helpful please so i can make...

Beware, they will scam you of your money. Today our server straight up lied to us, not only me, but a couple that I was with... about how much was left on our tab... to get us to order more items. We wanted to close out our tab and asked if we had credit left from the $100 we spent to get in (which first of all is crazy money to pay for a couple chairs on a beach and then get credit for overpriced drinks). I even asked him for a receipt to show me the balance before ordering more and he just told us, “no you’re good, you have After our server didn’t own up to his sales tactic, we spoke to some managers. I also found out during out during our complaint to the manager that the group of people near our umbrella were experiencing the same issue. The managers would not budge or even sympathize with what happened. It was a gong show, I really felt like we were played. The other guy that was there with his wife and daughter, just picked up and left without paying shaking his head, because he was over the deception.

Seriously for a few hundred pesos, a business is willing to decive its customers and it would not hold its staff accountable for his actions. Something is seriously off and I can’t in good conscience support a business that has management that will not take a proffessional approach to upholding honesty and guest satisfaction. It’s petty clear that they were in on the deception.

I still paid my tab, but felt totally ripped off. What could have been decent experience ended horrible. Next time I’m in playa to hang out on the beach with my local friends, it won’t be at Mamitas. I recommend that everyone stay clear...

My family and I had access to Mamitas since we were staying at the Oceana residences and it was included in our stay. We went 6 times during our 2-week stay mostly because it was convenient. Our experience was very negative.

Both Mamitas managers we encountered were extremely rude, classless and uncooperative. From the moment I initiated a conversation with them, they were already defensive with no intention to help (no matter how nice I was or what the question was) and had no professionalism. They treat Oceana customers as less than (even though we did pay for access through our Oceana stay and, in addition, consumed $985 worth of food and drinks) and did not consider us unless we bought more chairs than the 2 chairs and 1 umbrella included with the Oceana room.

The umbrellas and chairs are dirty and most of them are broken. Overall, the place needs to be completely renovated, it’s not well maintained and very old, not worth paying hundreds of dollars for. The managers refused to fix or change the broken umbrella we had despite having many others available. They made up excuses to not fix/change it and the manager ended up admitting that they didn’t want to help because we were Oceana customers and he didn’t care. If they’re unhappy with their agreement with Oceana, they should change it instead throwing their frustrations on customers... In the end, Angel, a young waiter, was very kind and replaced the broken umbrella (despite his manager and other waiters telling him not to).

We’ve had good experiences with some waiters (Angel, Fidel and Luis were great - thank you!) which is why I gave some stars to this rating, but they are the only staff we met that gave good service and were nice.

The food is decent. The establishment is poorly managed. I do not recommend this...

The beach itself is beautiful and the food tastes good, but overall I found everything overpriced for the value. Customer service is not great either, and they automatically expect a 20% tip. If you don’t pay it, the next day you may find yourself ignored. On one occasion, I asked the food service team to help us move away from a loud local band that had set up right next to us. The staff was dismissive and told me to speak to the manager. Instead of listening to my concern, the manager interrupted me several times, insisting her team is always helpful and “it cannot be.” Such a defensive attitude isn’t what you’d expect from someone managing customer service—patience and listening should come first. I still visit daily because my Airbnb provides access to Mamitas, but I now avoid ordering anything here and prefer bringing food and drinks from other nearby places. Hopefully this helps other travelers make an informed choice.

Very lovely beach club. Food, service, atmosphere and facilities are top notch! They have well maintained restrooms and foot wash/shower facilities. Very important for after a day in the sand to rinse down. The pool over looks the beach and is a wonderful upgrade. It gives you access to both beach and pool area. So pretty to see the water but not have sand everywhere! I have been here many times and it always hits the mark. Your items will be safe on their lounge chairs. I have never had an issue to go for a stroll or swim for 30+ mins. My things are always right where I left them. The staff is friendly and respectful. Give this place a try!! The food here: fresh and delicious!!! Definitely come have breakfast in the villa overlooking the water!! So dreamy! I do it on my last day always.

We went to Mamita’s on a Monday. We got there when they opened around 9 AM and stayed until around 2 in the afternoon. We opted for the poolside seats, and we were the only ones there the entire time (more people were starting to arrive as we were leaving). The beach area started to fill up, but we had the pool and pool deck to ourselves. The admission fee was, I think, around 2000 or 2500 pesos, much of which could be used toward food and beverages (we used it all, plus some). The music was good and the DJ came about 11 AM or so and played some good music. We had the nachos which were very good. Beer and shots were reasonably priced. Good experience and we will definitely go there again next time we are in PDC!
