My family and I are Christians from Texas, but we heard of the Shabbat meal done here at the Chabad here in Cozumel and we wanted the experience of another culture. The food was delicious (more than PLENTY) and the community was welcoming. While I certainly understand that we stepped into their "world," there were many times throughout the evening we were not sure of what was being said or sung as we do not speak their native language. We did make a friend who tried to help us, but he was not an interpreter so he was limited in how much he was able to help us. We did have a good time, and the experience was pleasurable (one we would want to have again). If you are interested in learning something about the Jewish people, I would recommend attending the Shabbat.

Snorkeling is some of the best, they have swimming with dolphins, and manatees, both VERY expensive, they nickel and dime you to death, one man even told me, to use the pool chair for less than 30 minutes, there was a minimum purchase fee for drinks, he wouldnt let me pass until my husband showed up and asked what the problem was....we return every year only because our daughter loves it so much.

Rabbi Dudi and his wife are truly next level! Dudi you are a rockstar in what you do! Youโ€™re making a difference to Cozumel and to the entire world! This chabad house is one happy welcoming home for everyone! ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐ŸŒดโ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ›ต

If I could give zero stars, I would. First of all, if you are not Israeli, donโ€™t go here. They do not care at all about their customers. I came here with my religious sister and I was able to eat out at other places but she was not. The difference in service, food, atmosphere and quality was astounding. The chabad food was cheaply and poorly made, and was a weird Israeli version of Mexican food. Instead of pick de gallo they gave Israeli salad, etc.

The place was filthy, there were children running around and throwing furniture while the parents sat by and did nothing. The bathrooms were dirty and clogged.

However the worst part of it all was that as soon as the rabbi and community saw that we didnโ€™t speak Hebrew they completely ignored us and did not seem interested in proving a comfortable and enjoyable place for non- Israeli people. We paid 60$ usd to be there and enjoy the food and company. This was a waste of money, and I would have paid the same amount to have avoided such an unwelcome, rude, and overall...

Edit: adjusted starts to 3. I have since learned that the main Rabbi was away. This really is not an excuse as they should have had someone available who knew how to help us but I guess I can be a bit more understanding of the situation.

Horrible experience. Restaurant was closed. Had no information to give us regarding attractions in the area. We asked about bracelets for attraction discounts and they looked at us like they didn't know what we were talking about. 40 minutes later after I left and came back magically they knew what we needed.

The worst part was that the gentleman who was in charge was uninterested in helping us. He continues to push us off onto his associate who was knew to the area and didn't know anything to help us.

This unfortunately ruined our chance to...
