We came here for a drink while we waited for our ferry as it is the closest bar to the harbour, we got ONE drink each (2 of us) Staff member Ricardo was very blunt and rude, he rushed us to order and when paying the bill he asked multiple times for the tip. When I said no tip he scoffed and snatched the card machine away from me.
After this another member of staff, unfortunately not wearing a name badge, then bought over a takeaway cup (which we did no ask for) and slammed it down on the table very rudely as if to say “you can leave now” after saying no tip.
Normally we do tip but as this was a 20 minute stay and one 1 drink each, as well as the blunt and awkward atmosphere from Ricardo we did not think it was worth tipping for. It being topped off by a rude follow up from other staff after not tipping, Quite frankly the service didn’t deserve a tip regardless of how long and how much we ordered, completely unnecessary and rude. Do not recommend.
(Cocktails also very overpriced. Twice the amount you will pay...
Read moreGreat food, fast attentive service, and great location. We have been there over twenty times and we keep coming back. Its a reasonable price for the location and atmosphere, but can get expensive if you are on a budget. Our advice on the menu is stick to what Cozumel is known for, Mexican and seafood. Their ribs were better a while ago and now they are meh, but most everything else is simply amazing. If people approach you asking to sell items/songs simply say "no gracias" and they will leave you alone. The restaurant has been around for a while and the owners make sure that the staff are working hard to make an enjoyable experience for the customers. If we were there for a while to just eat, drink, and talk, they left us alone and didn't hover. If we were in a rush, they made sure we got our food quickly and cashed us out just as fast. They represent the heart of Cozumel's dining experience and it would be a shame not to try it...
Read moreTourist trap with good looking, but actually meh food.
We live in Texas and has had plenty of good Mexican food. We expected something similar or superior. We were very disappointed.
Fish Taco: looks great in pictures. Is mostly breading. Only a tiny amount of fish. The seasoning is strong, to mask that you’re not getting fresh fish.
Burrito: mostly rice. Bland. Large though, will fill you up.
Prices: actually more expensive than the good US restaurants serving Mexican food.
Chip and salsa: the salsa is actually chopped tomato chunks and onion pieces.
Tip: waiters know people tip in US and will explicitly ask for one. Not a flat amount, but a percentage.
Overall, I wholeheartedly do not recommend this restaurant. If you’re stuck on the island and are looking for a below average, Mexican restaurant and have no other choice - sorry! If you’re on a cruise - much better to eat...
