I ordered steak fajitas for 135 pesos ($6.51 USD). Before the meal came they brought soup, chips, black bean paste, and tortillas (my only potential complaint is they were cold not heated up like every other place I’ve been here in Mexico). They had a party of 10 arrive shortly after I did (and quickly pushed tables together and got them situated) but thankfully it did not affect my service eating alone and I normally forget to write reviews but wanted to say this was one of my favorite places I’ve eaten in Cozumel. Good prices, good service, and good food.
Other places in Mexico tend to forget about me when I’m dining alone or prioritize larger groups so I appreciated that this place made me feel like I got the same treatment/service of a party or 2 or 10.
Cash only or you have to do a bank transfer (I only asked because I like to know my options but I paid cash).
Highly recommend when looking for a more local eating experience in...
Read moreExcellent local place that travelers should enjoy. Mostly locals, although we saw a few “escapees” from the tourist center downtown. It’s been 25 years since we were last in Cozumel, and it has (somewhat sadly) become a cruise-ship destination in the time. The town fills up during the day and the vendors are aggressive in trying to pull as many dollars from them as possible before they go back to their ships and on to the next destination. I’m guessing that Las Palmas - if it was there 25 years ago - hasn’t changed a bit. This is true Yucatán Mexican food - salsa, cold black beans as a small dip, a complementary soup, and a wide variety of cooking choices for seafood, pork, and chicken (and a little beef). Light on vegetables, as you should expect, since they are just hard to find. Definitely try this place if you want to get a sense of what this part of Mexico is about, as least so far as food and...
Read moreWe went on a day where tourist traffic was low, so there weren't many customers in the restaurant. We were met with enthusiastic and friendly staff who waited patiently for us to order (not pushy at all), We have food allergies and asked to leave out certain items and the meal came just as ordered. Literally 3 minutes after ordering, the food arrived. Like, wow! Even for a slow night, it was incredible. And it was delicious!
Servers can take orders in English, if needed. Pretty affordable prices, similar to a restaurant grill in the U.S., maybe a little cheaper. After the dinner, one of the staff members even rushed to the door to help us watch our step. They definitely work hard to make it an enjoyable experience. Would definitely go...
