Los Otates is now Los Tacotales. I do no know if the name change also included an owner change. We have eaten here many times over the years and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere in years past. My favorite order has always been tacos el pastor which were freshly grilled to order with grilled pineapple. Two small tender corn tortillas held abundant moist flavorful meat with pineapple, onions, and cilantro. This time one dry small but thick, tortilla held dry, room temperature, flavorless meat, a slice of canned pineapple and almost no cilantro. Not very good at all, I was very disappointed. The pasole soup was excellent. The other tacos were flavorful, but nothing exceptional. The front of the restaurant flame grill and flat grill are now gone. The food is cooked out of view. The flour tortillas were fresh and good, as were the guacamole and pico de gallo. The restaurant has been cleaned up and remodeled, but the quality of the meals is just not what it was in past visits. After many enjoyable meals over the years, we will not be back here on...
Read moreThe restaurant is split in 2 by an ally which all sorts of vintage VW bugs came into. We really enjoyed the car show! One half of the restaurant was a bar with a couch and looked grunge which is where we were. The other half was more tables and like a traditional taco restaurant. The food was delicious; tender and flavorful beef! We felt like we were in downtown Seattle in the middle of Cozumel Mexico! There was very nice live music that evening and the singer had a great voice. We had tacos, beer, and an Oreo shake. We originally ordered horchatas, but then realized we aren't supposed to be drinking tap water and ice...we weren't sure so they took them back. The Oreo shake was not tasty, but the waiter made it from scratch and they were super kind. We didn't want to send the shake back too. They are very kind and accommodating. 100% would go...
Read moreFood was ok, but not amazing, the chef and many other workers are thiefs, they work with a bunch of people in the neighborhood to try to steal from the people who go to their little restaurant, if you go there make sure to not have anything of value because as soon as they spot it you're in big trouble, we got out because a huge group of people there helped us and called a taxi for us, as soon as we saw what the chef was trying to do he made it clear to the neighbors to not try anything by signaling to them, the whole time while we waited for a taxi and asked them to pack our food, the chef stared straight at us with the face of a literal killer, never felt so unsafe and would have never expected it off...
