If you are thinking about eating here, do yourself a favor and choose another restaurant. This was by far one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had and I would never recommend this place to anyone.

We were greeted outside and seated quickly, which at first made us think the service would be good. That illusion ended fast. After sitting down, we waited over 20 minutes before anyone even asked what we wanted to drink — and that only happened because we had to call a waiter over. The staff was completely unorganized, unprofessional, and inattentive.

To make things worse, a couple who sat down after us got their drinks and food before we were even offered water. This shows how poorly managed this restaurant is.

When our food finally arrived, the disappointment hit a whole new level. Don’t be fooled by the presentation — the food was absolutely horrible and definitely not worth the $450 USD we spent. A plate of fish we ordered was so extremely salty and overly fishy that it was nearly inedible. When we brought this up to the waiter, his response was “That’s how it’s supposed to taste.” No apology. No solution. No care for the customer experience.

For the ridiculous prices this place charges, we expected top-quality food, professional service, and a pleasant atmosphere. Instead, we got: • Extremely slow service • Disorganized and careless staff • Horribly overpriced, low-quality food • Unprofessional responses to complaints • A complete lack of customer care

This restaurant is overhyped, overpriced, and overrated. We left angry, frustrated, and regretting wasting our time and money here.

If you are looking for good food, fair prices, and quality service, this is not the place. There are much better restaurants nearby that actually care about their customers and serve food worth paying for.

Avoid this place at all costs. You will save your money, time, and sanity by going...

We dined here last evening and it was a disaster all the way around. We began with an order of scallops and a bottle of wine. But when it arrives it was steamed clams in a sauce. Being funny, my partner asked the waiter "are those scallops?" The waiter looked at the dish, said he didn't know and called over another guy and asked him! To be nice to the restaurant so they would not lose inventory, we went ahead and accepted them. Way more sauce in the bowl than tiny clams. Next our waiter over sold us on a new offering of Argentinian beef that was twice the price of what we went there intending to have - big mistake. We ordered medium, the beef arrived medium rare which was also fine with us - we try to be flexible eaters! The beef was so tough it had to be hacked at instead of cut and every bite was a chore to get to the swallowing point. Again it was not overcooked (but under) so it boils down to the poor QUALITY of the beef. The biggest disappointment was having to leave about half the serving on the plate due to it being pure fat and thick ugly gristle. Incredibly the 6 pieces of bacon wrapped asparagus were the highlight of the entire meal. Chocolate ganache cake with ice cream followed which was NOT cake at all but rather like a pudding in a tasteless baked/burned flour paste shell. At nearly US$ 200 (and we split ONE entre) - we'll skip it next time. Very disappointing as this is a frequent place of ours. We've always had an awesome dining experience all the way around in the past making this one of our top 3 eateries on the Island for fine dining. Incredible wine selection, superb and inventive cocktails, creative main courses, delicious desserts and extraordinary service can USUALLY all be had in this one magnificent place. Just...

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my recent experience at this restaurant was very disappointing from start to finish.

Upon arrival, my family and I were seated but left unattended for quite some time. Other guests who arrived after us were greeted and served right away, while we waited without even being offered water or drinks. I also had my one-year-old with me, and no one offered a high chair until I specifically asked. When I did, a server brought it over without a word and with visible attitude.

The restaurant was not busy—there were only two other occupied tables in our section—yet it still took calling over multiple staff members to even place our order. Unfortunately, the service did not improve from there. One of our dishes, the fish, was so overwhelmingly salty that it was inedible. We took only one bite before setting it aside. When the table was cleared, no one asked if there was an issue with the dish. We brought it up ourselves, and when we spoke to the manager, he dismissed our concern and informed us that we would still be charged for the meal, despite it being untouched.

Overall, the lack of attentiveness, poor customer service, and unwillingness to address a clear problem with the food made this a very frustrating and unpleasant dining experience. Sadly, this is not a place I would recommend...

Omgsh!!! This restaurant beats any restaurant on the island or in the US. After being in Cozumel for 8 days now I was so tired of eating the same hotel food or the typical tourist restaurants on the main road. We also tried the lobster place right across the Westin. Not worth the hype. Anyhow my 14 yr old son did a google search and found this 4.8 rated Azul Madera. As soon as you enter the place you can tell it is in a different level. We ordered the grilled octopus and garlic bread for starters. For entree, I had the seafood soupy rice which is more like a cioppino with rice. It is beyond amazing. Fresh seafood and the broth was out of this world! My son had the lasagna and my husband had the ribs which is cooked or marinated for 12 hours. We also had the cheesecake and chocolate ganache cake. I would give this place a 10+. For all the food we ate our bill was less than $100! Worth every penny!

My wife and I ate at Azul Madera three times during our 10 day vacation in Cozumel. Our taxi driver recommended it and we're glad we went. Can't say enough about this place. Our first visit was on our One year anniversary and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was nice and so was the staff. The food however was Outstanding. The appetizers were on point especially the cheese croquettes (highly recommend). They also gave us an appetizer on the house. The drinks were good as well. They were the first place we found that served grey goose. The main course blew us away. My wife had the shrimp fettuccine and I chose the filet mignon. Both of us were in culinary heaven. Everything was so good that we immediately said we're coming back and we did just that. Don't pass this place up or you'll miss out on one of the best places to eat in Cozumel.
