I’m torn - the place itself is beautiful and the food was delicious but extremely overpriced. I understand that Tulum is expensive in general but after paying over $600 AUD for two people to eat and have a few drinks and then need to go find more food after to fill ourselves is as bit ridiculous. The cocktails were average, which is disappointing for $35 AUD a pop (which is way more than top venues in Sydney). There was decent live music but we only heard about 1 minute of it - we arrived at 6pm for sunset drinks followed by 7pm dinner seating. The musician was setting up the entire time and only just starting at 8.30pm when we were leaving. There was only one dinner seating so I’m not sure who he was going to play to? The restaurant was less than half full for one dinner seating so perhaps the word is out that this place is overpriced. Unfortunately we learned the hard way. Some advice to the venue - our experience would have been much better if: there was some great bread to fill us up a little and to soak up the delicious sauces, the cocktails were better. Tried 3 versions of the Margarita and felt like high quality Mezcal, maybe change Mezcal brand. We have had Margaritas all through Mexico and yours would be in the lower half. Finishable but...
Read moreFirst, the positives: The villa itself is beautiful. It's really a great space for a large group of people. It's also one of the only options to house a large group of people on the beach strip in Tulum. Now, the negatives: The property manager was cold, inept, and terrible with communicating issues about the villa. The villa advertised air conditioning. The property manager neglected to tell us that the AC was only allowed to run at night. There were scorpions (yes, scorpions) that crawled into the villa during our stay. The property manager's response was, "Well, you're in the jungle." (Proper answer: Tulum is known to have scorpions in the area. While most are not dangerous, please take care to check your shoes and clothing. Also, the villa has provided scorpion a sting-kit in case you receive a sting). The entire electrical system broke on our final night. The property manager was completely unavailable during the critical time. There was no light, and no AC. The heat/sleeping conditions were unbearable. The next morning, my friend (sarcastically) asked the property manager how he slept. The property manager's response: "Probably better than you." If I owned the villa, I'd fire the property manager immediately. He was...
Read moreIf you’re into design and aesthetics, you’ll be all over this place. This also - im my humble opion - is the coolest hotel in Tulum - a real hidden gem. The decor is gorgeous with a zen beach vibe and maybe the best restaurant in Tulum - and that's saying a lot b/c Tulum's food scene is pretty epic. If you are not staying at the hotel - u need to know someone to get into the restaurant - but as a guest it's no problem. While it’s not on the beach, you can still hit the sand across the street or chill at a nearby beach club. Plus, twice a week there’s live music and a party atmosphere that’s super fun.
If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this might not be the place for you. The location is in the middle of Tulum’s restaurant and nightlife scene, which means noise and crowds – and if you have kids, it might not be the best choice. Plus, the restaurant is only open for breakfast, and there’s no lunch option – and two nights a week, the live music can be loud until midnight.
If you want to see a video tour of this hotel, it's...
