I’ve been traveling around Asia and Africa for the past year and can honestly say this is one of the worst restaurants in the world. We were starving off the bus from Casablanca and stumbled upon this place; though it would be a delicious, home cooked, hole in the wall type place! We were very wrong. We were served old, rotten olives and stale bread to start. We couldn’t believe she actually put the olives in front of us and gagged when we tried one. The Moroccan soup was watered down and the only taste was acidity. The meat tajine came out almost instantly (other places took about half hour to cook them since it is Ramadan and most people are having breakfast at 7pm), had only two small cubes of beef, the potatoes and carrots tasted like mold. I assume it was cooked days precious and reheated for us. We only ate a couple bites of each and asked for the check. The woman running the place asked if everything was ok and when I told her “no, everything tasted very bad”, she smiled and thanked us so I assume the English was lost on her. Bottom...

This charming, hidden gem of a mom-and-pop restaurant might require a bit of searching, but it's an absolute must-visit. Despite dining at the well-known Clock restaurant the night prior, my wife and I found ourselves favoring Al Wiam. Our order included the Moroccan salad, the roasted red pepper and tomato salad, and the vegetable couscous. Each salad was a delightful burst of freshness with perfectly balanced seasonings. The couscous, rich with flavor, had clearly been lovingly prepared with a generous dose of butter. The vegetables were remarkably fresh, evidently cooked from scratch just for us. Don't forget to request the bluoule sauce, as it elevates the entire meal. The rustic and endearing ambiance adds to the experience. Without a doubt, one of the standout meals of our Morocco tour. We wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone seeking homestyle,...

Hidden away in one of Chefchaouen’s quiet little streets, this cozy spot run by a nice local couple turned out to be one of the best food experiences I’ve had in the city over the years. The vibe is super warm and welcoming, it honestly feels like you’ve been invited into someone’s home.

The food was incredible. Everything was made with so much care and creativity. I had a meat and prune tajine that was cooked with apples and kiwis which sounds unusual for even a native, but it totally worked. Sweet, savory, and full of flavor. The appetizers and bread were also delicious. The whole menu is very affordable, especially considering how good the food was. It’s the kind of place you stumble upon and never forget. If you’re in Chefchaouen, definitely hunt...

What to do in the “Blue City”⬇️ (Save for later) Chefchaouen, often referred to as the “Blue City,” is a picturesque town in northern Morocco known for its distinctive blue-painted buildings and stunning mountain landscapes. -Wander around the blue streets. You can wander for hours through these blue alleyways. It was my favorite Medina in all of Morocco. The entire town is “Instagrammable” -Watch the sunset from Bouzafer Mosque on the hill. -Take a day trip to Akchour. Here you can hike to the God’s Bridge and/or multiple stunning waterfalls. It’s a 45 minute taxi ride. -I stayed at Dar Dadicilef Hostel and loved it. It’s very quiet, with a stunning garden, delicious free breakfast every morning, and the sweetest owner. His English isn’t great, but if you speak a little Arabic, French, or Spanish you’ll hit it off beautifully. -My favorite restaurants were Casa Aladin, Cafe Clock, Mandala, & Restaurant El Wiam. Getting here from Tangier and/or Fez is very simple using the bus system. I recommend you use CTM or Supratours. You can purchase tickets online, but I purchased them at the ticket window about 15 minutes before departure. Harira soup was only tomato soup, pasta and maybe celery powder? No chickpeas no lentils no traditional herbs and spices... I wouldn't even call it Harira soup. The taco... as you can see in the photo nearly only filled with fries, and barely any meat (ordered the kefta)... Below standard. The chicken... even the vegetables were tasteless, chicken too chewy and the whole was more like chicken soup with some yellow colour, lack of any typical tagine taste and no herbs or spices. To make matters worse there was A HAIR in the food, see close up photo in the centre. We were the only ones there and the food took ages.... to simply heat up my guess. While they were talking loudly the whole time. Better to find food elsewhere
