Gayza restaurant - Relais & Châteaux — Restaurant in Fez

The food at Garza is very good to excellent - we’ve had breakfast, lunch and dinner there while we were staying at the Riad - the food for dinner was mostly very good - fish dishes, the Moroccan salads - both very good. Lunch choices were a bit limited as some items were not available so that was a bit disappointing - so had to have the same Moroccan salads we had for lunch. Breakfast (included in hotel stay) is really good - fresh eggs or omelets, great buffet with smoked salmon/meats/breads, muffins and and most days they had great fresh fruit. There were some inconsistencies with the bread and the fruit but overall very good. We were not impressed with the service - had a reservation for a table but when we got there we were told to go to a back room or wait 20 minutes at the roof bar - so we waited…20 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes - finally insisted on a table and they seated us. ادفع كاش لاتدفع عبر البطاقة ،المكان جميل جدا والطعام ولكن للأسف مافي شي كامل بعد ماطلبت وانبسطت بالأجواء وقت الدفع قلتلهم بدفع عبر البطاقة وبعد مادفعت وجاتني رساله من البنك بخصم المبلغ قالوا لي ماوصلنا المبلغ تقريبا المبلغ كان مايعادل 120دولار للفرد الواحد ، وطلبت من الموظفة انها تجيبلي المشين المخصص للدفع علشان اطلع لها الفاتوره منه ولكن تفاجاءت انو جميع الفواتير محذوفة مافي اي فاتوره بالمشين بحكم عملي لي سنوات أتعامل بمشين الدفع وقاموا بحذف عملية الدفع وفتحت لهم موقع البنك انو تم الدفع بس قالوا لي ماجا دفع واضطريت ادفع لهم مره ثانيه كاش وقالوا لي إذا وصلنا المبلغ عبر البنك راح نتواصل معاك ونرجعه لك طبعا مو معقول أنا طيارتي اليوم اللي بعدها وكلام غير منطقي ومن رجعت السعوديه تواصلت مع البنك وفعلا قالوا لي المبلغ اندفع بس مارجع لي حقي . للأسف المكان جميل بس إذا استمروا على نفس هذي السياسيه راح يخسرون عملائهم إذا تبغون تروحون لهم خلوا معاكم كاش

Nice place, but WARNING: pay in cash only.

The location and food were great, but I had a serious issue with payment. I paid by card and got a confirmation from my bank that the amount (around $120 per person) was deducted, but the staff claimed they didn’t receive it.

When I asked for the payment terminal to print a receipt, all records had been deleted. I showed proof of payment, but they still made me pay again in cash, promising a refund if the card payment showed up later. I never got my money back.

Avoid paying by card. Pay cash only. I lost my money, and no one...

Overall a memorable experience. Very elegant and classy environment. Top-notch service. Food was tasty for the most part (notable mention for the quail pastilla) with some elements of disappointment (turmeric gnocchi were literally 4 and the dish was more a tomato soup than anything else.
