Unless Desperate ... Do Not Go!
We arrived to the restaurant to find a cat lying in the middle of the dining room floor.
First Red Flag
We then sat down and the waitress brought us the menus. I was very excited to try kosher Moroccan food.
We ordered the Moroccan cigars and Hoummous to start followed by a lamb tagine and vegetarian couscous.
I ordered a beer as well and was given in a wine glass. Red flag number two
The food came extremely quickly after hearing a few beeps in the kitchen. The cigars were poor and the hoummus was watery and had a strange texture. We sent back the hoummus and I pushed myself to finish the cigars.
As we were looking at the cat having a nap we enjoyed the sound of some music coming from the kitchen. It had a lovely beat. I tried to Shazam it but we realised very quickly it wasn't on Spotify. It was the sound of the microwave that seemed to cook every dish in the restaurant.
Then came the mains ...
The vegetarian couscous was alright, nothing special. But the lamb... oh my goodness.
The plate was boiling hot and the outside was hot but the centre was stone cold. Clearly microwaved the whole dish. I read on a previous review the owner replied saying that a microwave is critical for heating elements but clearly not the case.
We physically watched the chef use the microwave for almost every dish leaving the kitchen. Putting the dishes in. One beep. Timer goes off. Three beeps. This was constant throughout the whole meal. They have put a curtain up to try and block the view but it's obvious. I asked the waitress has it been microwaved and went to check with the chef and when she came back she apologised and took it away.
Regardless of the microwave usage, the amount of lamb on the bone was non existent. More bone than meat.
They removed the hoummus and lamb from the bill. I had to walk to an ATM because the card machine wasn’t working. We paid for the rest and then left extremely disappointed.
We then went somewhere else to have dinner as we were very hungry. (The sushi we had elsewhere was lovely.)
I have had better food on a plane with a hermolis meal.
I've given it a one star review but an extra star on atmosphere for the cat. There's a reason it was in the dining room and not the kitchen. I wouldn't go...
Read moreService was terrible, which runined the ok food. We were seated outside for 10 minutes and no one came to give a menu. I had to go inside and ask for a menu. The staff were talking to the manager who was casually sat down doing nothing. She said they'd bring a menu and I asked for it now as I want to look while I wait. I had to help myself to a menu from the shelf. The restaurant had plenty of staff and was not too busy. The manager was shouting at people infront of customers which is very bad service. Other customers also felt uncomfortable with the manager and also the service. The manager was then sat outside for a long time on her phone and we waited a long time for our check. This may be the worse restaurant service I've received in the world. We paid the service charge because we felt bad for the staff working for the manager.
Update. The purpose of a Google Map review is to describe the entire experience for other potential visitors. Your bad management has a direct impact on the experience when visiting your restaurant. Although you own the establishment, you're are also the day to day manager, you provided the bad service and created the bad atmosphere. My personal advice: if you are not good with working with people (customers and staff) hire a manager to run the day to day and you should stay at home and count...

As for the owners reply, we did complain but the staff didn't care/understand. My wife, having waited over 20 mins longer for her dish than mine took too arrive, chose to remove the strange pieces and eat what she felt she could. She was hungry after watching me finish my meal before hers had even come. There were 4 members of staff in the kitchen that I could see. Why did it take so long for my wife's dish to come? They clearly forgot it. I could maybe understand if they were busy. There were more staff than customers in the place! When I asked the owner to remove the service charge she refused saying the dish takes longer to make. I have never known food to be served at all different times. Why wasn't her dish started before mine so they both be ready at a similar time?
The owners response speaks volumes about her attitude towards paying customers. She appears to be quite young - maybe a few more years experience will help.
