I went to Extrablatt without reservation on a weekday for breakfast and had a very nice experience. Rachid, the server, welcomed us already at the door with a big smile and invited us to sit wherever we liked. We chose a corner table on the terrace and Rachid immediately brought over the very extensive menu pack (perhaps too extensive as it contained a burger menu, ice cream menu etc? In any case the breakfast related menu would have sufficed at 9:00am in the morning, but -then again- I would not have known they also offered Burgers and Ice cream - but it was too much info during that time of day 😊). My guest ordered the Express breakfast consisting of a ham and cheese croissant, yoghurt and beverages. I chose the gourmet breakfast (including European style breakfast items like danishes, charcuterie, cheese, marmalade, croissant and bread) which was very extensive and could have served two people. I had very good cappuccino with my breakfast and the freshly pressed orange juice was appreciated. The breakfast was served fairly fast and everything was very much to our satisfaction. The price was appropriate and I can recommend this place as a nice European style breakfast spot, where Expats like to go as most of the guests present did not appear...
Read moreExtrablatt is one of my go-to spots in Hivernage when I’m looking for a chill outdoor terrace to enjoy some sun, good coffee, or a relaxed breakfast. It’s not necessarily a must-visit for tourists, since it’s located in a modern, upscale neighborhood and doesn’t offer the “traditional” Moroccan experience — but that’s exactly why I like it.
The vibe is calm and comfortable, perfect for catching up with friends, getting a bit of work done, or just enjoying a quiet moment away from the chaos of the Medina. The food is decent, the coffee is good, and the staff is friendly. It’s not a place full of surprises, but it delivers exactly what you expect — and sometimes that’s just what you need.
If you’re a traveler wanting to experience Marrakech like a local, this is a great spot to slow down and enjoy a more modern side...
