Came here twice, both on a Saturday night:
First time made reservation, arrived on time, was seated, food came out quickly, I asked for the steak, it came cooked appropriately, had a few drinks, the experience was fair. Food was ok. Dessert was good.
Second time: we arrive and are told that our reservation is an hour later.. We booked for 10:30PM and were told it was 11:30PM. The truth is that there is no such thing as a 11:30 PM reservation. They gave our table to someone else. We were told to wait.. We waited an hour and 10mins. Indeed they sat us at 11:40PM. 4 parties came after us. They got a table.. we didnt. Why? Clearly because we aren't regulars. We ordered food at midnight.. Most of the menu was gone. We were directed to order the Lobster, the most expensive thing on the menu: fine lets give it a try..
It was burnt, salty and clearly wasn't worth the $40. (the food feedback is independent of the experience. It truly was mediocre).
We were having dinner while people were already drunk, dancing and having a good time..
We didnt' wanna throw a fuss cuz the waiters were nice and saw that we got the short end of the stick so they didn't their best to help us have a good time.
Giving it 2 stars for the waiting staff, the music ambiance, and the free drinks while we were waiting, but clearly won't come back because of the treatment at the entrance, the tastless overpriced food and lack of clarity.
Recommendation for management: "We apologize, we mismanaged our capacity and couldn't get a free table for you on time. Can we offer you a drink and will get you seated ASAP, will have gone a long way"; Instead of the three hosts that avoided to eye contact us while waiting. The effort to offer drinks had little impact since it arrived at a time where we...
Read moreI came expecting to enjoy this place but I was disappointed. The live entertainment is very good to excellent. The food was extremely hit-and-miss for our table of 8. The service was just as patchy.
Some of the wait staff tried really hard and I respect them for that. Others, including a young waitress seemed to not have any clue about service and were more interested in the show or simply disinterested in her customers. THAT especially is a management problem, not her fault.
I write this in the hope that management will take note. The food is too salty and the wait-staff are inconsistent. This is fixable.
Side notes about the food:
Dover sole was OK but very salty.
Thai Green curry with shrimp was way, way too salty and was sent back after the first bite. (The waiter did get it subtracted after understanding that it would come off their tip.)
Fresh veggie spring roll (Vietnamese style) had no flavor except an extremely salty and acidic...
Read moreThe food is very expensive. I had better food from the street vendors. We had 2 x starters, 1 x main, 1 x dessert and 1 x bottle table water = £90. The chicken was dry and was not cooked in a tagine, otherwise it would be tender. The tagines don't come with any vegetables or cous cous, it was just chicken and olives, nothing else. You can see why £90 was over priced. There was a photographer there who took our picture, we didn't ask him too, then tried charges us £25 for 3 photos. Not safe from people trying to get money from you even inside le lotus bar. Save your money and go elsewhere. The show was OK. Nothing I haven't seen before. Nothing culturally stimulating. A few British girls doing a burlesque dance. They were sweet, but again nothing to write home about. The only saving grace were the servers. They were absolutely amazing, so friendly. 5* for the...
