Contemporary nice place with a good heart at the essence of it. I went here with some work colleagues on a Wednesday evening. It seems nothing out of the ordinary to be able to do this, but it is in this (newly built) area of de Zuidas at the RAI/Boelelaan side. Basically it's in the bit of no man's land (it used to consist out of offices only) between the World Trade Centre/Station Zuid side of the Zuidas towards the RAI/Europaboulevard. Bar Valdi however breathes Amsterdam urban coolness, friendliness AND professionalism in running the bar. The normal bar menu consists of proper standard executions of bar bites (proper bitterballen), the special menu (not posted online) consisted out of food made by refugees. This warms my heart. Read moreOur dinner at Bar Valdi yesterday with friends was a delightful experience. The food is Mediterranean and was absolutely delicious and flavorful. The staff was friendly and attentive, making our dining experience even more enjoyable.
The atmosphere was pleasant and inviting, and we felt very comfortable throughout our meal. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous, so we left feeling satisfied and happy.
The restaurant has a large terrace overlooking the waterfront. It was a beautiful setting to enjoy our dinner and drinks with friends.
Overall, I highly recommend Bar Valdi for anyone looking for a great dining experience with delicious food, friendly service, and a nice ambiance. We will definitely be returning...

Nothing would convince her to let us in. I even pointed out that the online booking system hadn’t worked when I’d tried earlier in the day. To which I was told with a shrug that I should have emailed or called. Okeeeey. In fact we just came back 5 minutes later and found a cute table that was plenty big enough for my colleagues and me. And once in the beer selection was good and they had nice snacks. And the service was good. But why try so so hard to turn potential customers away - with the money they are willing to spend? Makes no sense. And just leaves me feeling meh about...
