In short - perfect! Must visit this place! We arrived at the restaurant at rush hour, 6:30 p.m., and the restaurant was almost completely full. We didn't reserve seats in advance and rushed to the show at the nearby theater. I approached the waiter and asked if by any chance there was a table for a couple and if he thought we would be able to leave the restaurant within an hour - the charming waiter said he would make every effort for us. Indeed it was! Immediately after we sat down, and despite the busyness of the restaurant, a charming waitress approached us and made sure to take our order as quickly as possible. The food arrived very quickly, and was delicious, accurate and great. The staff was attentive and pleasant despite the busyness of the restaurant and this made the whole experience even more successful! The design of the restaurant was also charming and we also want to stay there longer. It was a very successful visit and I will definitely go back...

The two brothers Daan and Dorus and their personnel did everything they could to make our night perfect. Besides the unique location of Bistro Baret in the center of the city, our evening was absolutely wonderful. The highlight of the evening was by far the 'Côte de Boeuf'. Daan (the chef) came to our table before preparation of the dry aged Côte de Boeuf. He passionately explained the origin of the meat and how he was going to prepare it for us. My friends and I were all eyes and ears. After Daan's explanation Dorus came to gave us advice about the wine that suited with the meat which was an excellent combination.

In short, friendly staff, amazing food and wine, not expensive and a guarantee for a...

Amsterdam is not renowned for good or friendly service, but Baret certainly bucks that trend with a team that were very friendly, attentive and fast.

We arrived to the restaurant without a reservation, but were quickly given a table, offered something to drink and given the menu to look at whilst our drinks were served.

The food was delicious, reasonably priced and well worth the visit. My friend enjoyed the vegetarian ravioli, I enjoyed their steak accompanied by a crisp green salad and their wine and beer choice was very good.

I'd definitely include Baret as one of my preferred places for a quiet...

Very great bistro. I had a reservation for two people. Our table was nice, it's not a big place so be ready for squeeze but it's warm and friendly service and very good food. I went for the meat and it was amazing. As a starter, we choose beet and loved it. Their wine selection was also really good for us, choose a light red vine and enjoyed the whole bottle. Definitely we will visit again.

I wouldn’t call this place extraordinary, but it is good. Nice place to grab a dinner before Carré. Staff was welcoming and steak was good. There are not many wine options if you just want a glass. Prices are ok. I can recommend the place, but make sure to book it in advance, the place is small and gets quite busy even on weekday evenings.
