We didn't make a reservation but took a chance. Although there seemed only 4 tables occupied, all current diners were pushed up to the front of the restaurant as the other tables seemed to be not in use (apparently there was a larger reservation for later). Unfortunately this meant it a bit cramped for those that WERE actually in, and getting draughty chills whenever the front door opened wasn't ideal.

Whilst awaiting a starter of Boti Kabab we were given a couple of poppadums (actually papads) along with a spice tray containing a small quantity of green chilli, red spicy mango and a cooler raitha - two being surprisingly tart with a great bite.

For mains we ordered a lamb biryani - the menu indicates it is served with a raitha or aloo but unfortunately we weren't asked any choice and just given another raitha instead - and a chicken vindaloo which we were warned was spicy (4 chillies on the menu to indicate its heat). I'd been told curries in Holland aren't as hot as UK and when it arrived I didn't find it as harsh as I'd expected (certainly not as hot as Vindaloos I've eaten in India) - it turned out to be a good choice: lumps of chicken in a pleasantly bitey sauce with a single large potato floating in the middle (Not ever had a Vindaloo featuring that) so our earlier thoughts of a Madras wouldn't have been hot enough. However, I didn't realise this Vindaloo came with rice (I don't recall the menu mentioning it) so there was an extra bowl of plain basmati on the side, along with the nans we'd ordered.

The only criticism of the night was being all cramped up at the front, sitting in the draught and the waiter spraying nearby tables with a pungent cleaning fluid whilst we were trying to eat. I'll certainly look at returning, but next time I'll look at getting one of the other tables (still deserted when we left) so I'll be out of the wind and hopefully seated further away from cleaning jobs.

The meal itself was good - no complaints there - but the customer service left a lot...

Pathetic attitude of the Restaurant Manager and the employees of the restaurant...these folks were extremely insulting and went to the extent of just removing the table-cloth from our table while we were sitting and waiting for the food that we had ordered. On enquiring the reason for the same, they said that since the bill is only about EUR 12 they are removing the table-cover and had the order and the bill amount been higher, they would have left the table cloth on the table the way they had done for the others. I had gone there just because my wife who is a vegetarian wanted to have some home food (Indian food), as we had been away from India for over a week now. As for me, I just wanted to have a small bite only to give her company....but whatever happened was completely bizarre and never ever heard of.

This was a completely unacceptable behaviour and pathetic way to treat a customer. This is the only sore experience that we have had in more than a week in Amsterdam....the only one black spot in an otherwise amazing experience in Netherlands.

I wouldn't ever recommend this...

This is not Indian food, buyer beware. Ordered a "punjabi thali" and veg biryani. None of the dishes were passable as authentic. Tastes for half the items were okay at best. Had I not been so exhausted and hungry from travel I would've sent the food back. The daal was served with a slice of lime, this was already a sign of things to come so I gave it another try and waited for the rest. Channa was sweet, makhani had a mix of radjma and something else in it. Roti was not a roti at all. In all honesty its a very confused mix of 'dishes' trying to pass for Indian food. When asked how did I like it, I struggled to contain myself but I thought best to be fair and honest with feedback. Server was a friendly Nepalese chap but was very defensive and clearly wasn't used to having an actual Indian tell him the food was not upto scratch. More details are unnecessary at this point. Sorry but this was an expensive disappointment and my worst "indian food" experience ever at...

Wouldn't eat this food even for free. I ordered Garlic Naan, Shahi Paneer and Rice. They sent garlic paratha, that too, undercooked and without telling me that they changed my order all by themselves. And then they have the audacity to tell me that it's the same thing, just made on tawa. Anyone who knows anything about Indian food, would never call it Naan, see pics. And this guy kept arguing that it was naan. What they sent was not even close to naan. And they didn't even accept their mistake, just kept arguing. The shahi paneer was sub par too, the paneer being very dry and hard, and the gravy was ok. The only good thing was the packaging and the rice, hence the 2 stars. And the delivery took more than 1 hour 40 mins.

I read reviews for this place and was so excited to check it out but I was left disappointed. I came here for a late lunch and it wasn't busy. I was seated and the guy serving me was perhaps having a bad day or perhaps he wasn't impressed with my order. I ordered one aloo tikki chaat and it was okay. The portion size was small and I've had better elsewhere. I was given no tap water with my meal and I left feeling like I made a mistake by coming here. The guy serving me was sat on his phone uninterested and not approachable. I can't help but wonder if I had ordered dinner here or ordered more food if the service would have been better. That said, neither of things should matter.
