It was our last evening in Amsterdam and as tourists on thay day we have visited 2 museums, enjoyed the park and pictureque canals. After having our dinner we wanted to take a seat at this place for a coffee. We waited for some minutes but nobody took our order so we thought the possibility of self service. My friend went inside for ordering but the waiter sent her back, and said "I will take your orders".
She returned and we waited. After waiter came and we asked for the coffee, he said "maybe something alcoholic?beer?wine?" We were already tired and told him we just wanted to have coffee. After that he replied: This is not a café, we are bar and we are selling alcohol here. He refused to serve in very unfriendly way and dismissed us. We were shocked at his behavior and went back to our hotel.
I could understand his reaction if the place was full or close to closing time. (It happened around 19:00pm) There was none of this and the conditions were favourable for serving coffee to 2 tired ladies. It was very unpleasant experience for us.
Probably I will never have occasion to visit Amsterdam again and my last experience was disgraceful and not-acceptable at a certain point.

Think he needs to realise one thing if it wasn't for us tourists he probably wouldn't get much business. To wrap it up never going to use his...

She said whose luggage is that when I told her it was mine. She said that was going to be a problem. Once I looked at the menu and saw how sparse their offerings were, I looked at my wife and said, I don't think we need the attitude, let's find somewhere else when we got up. I nodded to the woman and said we're going to find somewhere else. Thank you, she referred perfect. I think she was very happy for us to leave. Thank...
