I’m from the U.S. and was visiting Amsterdam 3 weeks ago. Myself and 2 other friends visited this establishment. We dined in for dinner. I must admit, I didn’t want to eat here because I was looking for something with a little more picture worthy pizazz. Ya know, something Instagramable. My friends chose this place because it was raining and cold out and right near the public transportation as we were about to head back to our hotel. Service: Let me tell you, this was some of the best customer service I have had in a very long time. Our waitress Maya, Carla (another employee and Mario (the chef) were amazing! 🤩 Everyone was their authentic selves and felt genuine in their effort to make our dining experience great! Maya explained all the dishes we inquired about, she was patient with me, especially since I’m a picky eater. Carla was great with the follow up and Chef Mario even brought my meal out to me and made sure that it was to my liking! 🤩 wow
Setting: The ambience was quant, the location isn’t that big and it’s width is smaller than the length. It’s well lit, and has a home-like feel with coaster decorations along the walls and ceiling. I wasn’t really a fan of that design especially since I’ve seen this type of design executed better but for the type of small family vibe I say it fit perfectly.
Price: Reasonably priced dinner options. It is family friendly. I spent under 20€ on my dinner. (had my own water in purse, I said I was picky eater and can’t drink every water) lol Friends spent 20-40€ since they ordered...
Read moreNOT NUT ALLERGY FRIENDLY!! TLDR: cashews in pesto, not listed on menu, host/server did not know.
asked if they had nuts because i have a peanut and tree nut allergy. was told that there were no nuts in anything. then, they came out and asked if we wanted them to leave off pine nuts on the carpaccio (didn’t say they were nuts but a quick google search proved my suspicion). they were individually packaged so i wasn’t too worried. the carpaccio came out with pesto on it (was not listed on the menu as having pesto OR pine nuts) and i asked about the pesto and he insisted again there were no nuts. he brought the jar pesto for me to see and i asked to read the ingredients. it contained CASHEW NUTS. cashews are life threatening for me and it was listed absolutely no where. cook and host have no indication that they knew nuts were in it or cared to even read the ingredients. i didn’t eat there after that but my boyfriend said the good was...
Read moreThe worst service imaginable. We waited 45 minutes for a starter of Garlic Bread and Garlic mushrooms. Service is extremely slow and the staff simply do not care.
When it arrived, the mushrooms were simply mushrooms on a plate with side salad. No garlic, no flavour.
Their excuse was they were busy, but they also have the choice to turn people away if they cannot cater for the demand. Don’t let people continuously into your restaurant if you’re unable to even accommodate them.
Based on the experience we had, we will not return. There are much better more appealing options for food, in particular Italian food.
We missed other bookings in light of it taking too long here. Others dining at the same time as us, had the same problem and had made similar comments and gestures to staff.
Oh, they won’t take your card either. They’ll tell you the card machine is broke and to...
