From outside it was looking nice and we wanted some proper italian food so we tought Toscana as the name of very good cuisine was gonna be a sign of good food. I ordered 2 starters and my friend ordered a pizza and fries. I asked if the started could come in a bigger size and could be eaten as a main (i would of cours pay more for a larger portion) and got straight away said no with the excuse that their dishes come in a one size only.. The dish was Tuscanian carpaccio and to be onest for italian proper food the taste was not the best as the meat was very dry. I asked for no salad with it and got served a big portion of iceberg salad that looked like a bag of salad bought at the supermarket and the guy even asked why I wasn't eating it. I also ordered focaccia and by mistake got given bruschetta.. when I sent it back asking for the right one i received some flat bread more similar to naan bread or pitta with lot of onion on top. My friend was questioned a little bit when requesting a white pizza with no tomato sauce because the server was not fully comprehending English.. and at the end we didn't even received the fries. They forgot about it. The pizza was alright tho, my friend would not give it more than a 6/10, very thin flavourless with no condiment or anything. For dessert we ordered home made italian tiramisù that was probably just made 5 minutes prior as the biscuit that are used for it did not absorbe the coffe or cream and where still very hard and the cream was still hot and melting with the coffe... at the end the price for it was not too high but not worth it. They also put the wrong item in the receipt when bringing the bill to us as they misunderstood our bread order before and charged us for two types of bread. I feel a bit sad as I was trying to have a proper homemade italian like meal in the city. Would not recommend. Wrong order taken, an item never came and the bill...
Read moreUnfortunate experience. The customer service was really good so I have nothing bad to say on that end. However, we were told we could not have tap water which was a red flag, so we paid for water. Then after we ordered we were asked if we wanted to try the garlic bread or bruschetta, which we didn’t, but that also felt a bit weird as we’ve never been recommended something AFTER we order. At that point, we felt like we were being up sold. I ordered caesar salad and my partner ordered the tagliatelle with salmon. The caesar salad was the absolute strangest thing I have ever eaten - fried egg (I assumed it would have been a hard boiled egg as that is more traditional), tomatoes, arugula, onions, iceberg lettuce, bread chunks (it was soft so I really can’t call it croutons), and a ranch-like dressing. I assumed that the waiter heard me wrong and I don’t want for that to get thrown out, so I ate it as I have no dietary restrictions. Also important to keep in mind that we are in a country foreign to us - I actually considered the possibility that this is a Dutch version of the dish. We didn’t have a menu at this point so I didn’t really care, and we paid our bill and left. When we went outside I wanted to check which salad I actually had, and NOTHING like what I ate was on the menu. Between the water being forcibly charged, an attempted up sell on our small order, and being given a completely wrong meal, this was a bad restaurant experience. These are changeable and the customer service was good so there is hope, but if nothing changes I can’t imagine this...
Read moreThe server was horribly rude to us. There was a miscommunication over an order where he thought we ordered water instead of hot chocolate. He brought us water and we didn't think much of it as it's quite normal in my country to bring over water along with dinner and it's the customer's choice to drink it or not. If you drink it they charge you otherwise not. When the hot chocolate didn't come and the rest of the order did, we asked him about it thinking he might have forgotten. He denied having received the order and we calmly told him that it's fine and he can get us hot chocolates now. He got rude for no reason and said "you're asking me to get hot chocolate now?" Yeah, we are asking you now dude, is it such a big deal to order something later on? We tried to calm him down by telling it's just a miscommunication and it can happen to anyone, we didn't even blame him. He got angry and said "I never make mistakes!" Lol never seen such an attitude on anyone. He even came back again later on and started arguing again over a simple hot chocolate lol. The guy definitely has a few screws...
