The best part about this hotel is its location. It is located at the heart of Amsterdam and is within walking distance to a lot of attractions. The actual hotel and rooms were quite small which is expected given the location and the age of the buildings in the area. The room was quite bare and the bathroom did not have a properly separated shower area so the entire bathroom gets wet after a shower. The receptionists are not very attentive and did not provide good customer service (as least by US standards/expectations). There were numerous time where we were at the front desk trying to get their attention but we were ignored as they continued chatting or looking at the computer. However, we've encounter this in other places in Amsterdam so it might be a cultural difference. We also had trouble with the internet which stopped working after the first day. Even after notifying the hotel, we did not see them addressing this issue. Whenever we would inquire about it they simply stated it wasn't working rather than trying to quickly fix it. As tourists, this was very frustrating since we wanted to be able to lookup info about the surrounding area...
Read moreHotel is pretty unique all the rooms were very different. We stayed with two other couples our room was OK nice decor. All walls were covered by curtains & the bed. The ensuite was long clean but poorly lit only one bulb. Our friends had different rooms one was very small they described it as like sleeping in a coffin as it was draped in silk even the ceiling it was inside the building with no views. The third room was again very different it was a large room with a sinister feel it had spooky looking drawings on the wall paint flicked on the floor & black paint running down the light coloured walls. It had some ornate furniture which wouldn't really be practical but looked good. Our room was street facing & noisey. There are vending machines in the corridor expensive €3 for a bottle of water. The staff were very nice I would stay again in the room I had we paid £364 for two nights plus taxes I think you could get more for your money else where but location was ideal for the city 7min walk from the...
Read moreI’m going to start with the positive. The location was perfect for us. We literally walked to everything we wanted to do in the city and there were plenty of restaurants nearby to eat at.
The customer service though was terrible. The attendant in the box could not/ would not meet any of our needs. We booked a room that said it could be upgraded; upon arrival she told us she could not accommodate us. They will not do early check-ins (even an hour early) so don’t even bother. It was our honeymoon and we mentioned that to the attendant. This hotel does nothing special for the guests for those types of occasions. The room in my opinion was ok. It was dusty in there which flared up my allergies. They need to deep cleans those rooms. Also, there is no “lip” in the shower and the water splashes all over the floor in the sink/ toilet area. The floor was completely wet when I got out of the shower. Lastly, it’s very noisy. You can hear everything from those rooms, they have very...
