Hungry? Think again:

We saw a mouse (yes, a freaking mouse) walking past our table. I report this to one of the kitchen staff members (an open kitchen, literally 1 meter away from where we were sitting) and his reply was "Well, this is Amsterdam, it's full of mice". I ask him if the health and safety committee (GGD, in Dutch) are aware of this and his reply was "Well yeah, they gave us some mouse traps that we use during the night but still, there are too many. It must be because the restaurant next door has a cat in their kitchen so all the mice come to us (!).

I am not kidding. This was his actual reply before he proceeded to stand outside the door and enjoy his well-deserved cigarette.

I then asked the person serving our table, whether he was aware of the GGD rules regarding mice, to which he replied with the question "What is the GGD?". I explained to him that we saw a mouse and according to health and safety regulations, this is not the best place a mouse could be. He seemed to become stressed and he said he doesn't know what I was talking about. I asked him if he was aware of any mice issue in the restaurant and he just replied "No" while leaving our table obviously offended by my question.

Eat at your own risk: The food was decent, you can call it a good fast-food option, although somewhat overpriced for what they serve.

I will never set foot in there again, not only because of the freaking MOUSE casually walking next to the kitchen, but due to the fact that the staff couldn't give a DAMN about the fact that we complained.

For duck's sake, we live in 21st...

The food was good, but we had the worst service I've ever experienced.

When the waitress learned we had placed some orders using the provided QR code but others in person she huffed loudly, threw her hands into the air and huffed back to the bar before coming back.

When the meal had arrived, we asked for condiments, and she turned without saying a word and stomped off (really stomped her feet like a child) before we had finished asking what we wanted. One of our party then told her we didn't appreciate her attitude, and she stormed off and we didn't see her again. Another waiter appeared and we gave the feedback that we couldn't believe how we'd been treated by her, and he had the nerve to say we were making it hard for her in the way we were ordering!

We also couldn't pay separately. At time of writing they need a new system...

Burger was nice but prices were a bit pricey, especially for what you're getting.

The "tap your own heineken" is most definitely a gimmick, with extortionate prices you pay for a 250ml glass of heineken which you supposedly "tap yourself" with there being an individual tap at most tables. Two problems with this, when the waitress was demonstrating how to use it, she just did it herself, which seemed a bit pointless as now my friend had a beer which was pulled by someone else.

For my beer, I did do it myself, but it was just like pressing a button, you pull the lever once and 250ml of beer just comes out all in one go, overspilling into the drip tray, and so you get no control of how fizzy you want it as half of it becomes foam.

Would avoid the beer gimmick.

The food however was very nice, and i would definitely...

Walked into Burger Fabrique a bit after 11PM with a couple of friends, just craving a good burger. We hadn’t booked, but there was space and they welcomed us in right away. They seated us in a quieter back room, kind of like an expansion of the main restaurant—super chill, perfect for chatting and enjoying the food. We ordered three burgers through their QR code system—super smooth and fast, no need to flag anyone down. That said, the staff were still friendly and present if needed. Burgers came quickly and were juicy and tasty. Nothing too fancy, just solid, satisfying burgers. We ended up spending about 30 euro each, which felt fair for the quality and the whole vibe. Would definitely return if I'm in the area and craving a late-night burger fix.

Food: I ordered a Mexican hamburguer. The meat was caramelized on the outside, but it was chewy and had no juice at all. The spiciness was on point. The fries were small-sized and overly done, like the last ones from large batch. They also charge for each sauce (even ketchup). Service: It requires a QR code to order and read the menu The staff was friendly, but the order took 35 minutes to get done. I think it was too much, considering we were not at lunch time. Atmosphere: The waiter arranged us one of four two-seat tables, disposed side-by-side. There was almost no space between them, so we could hear the conversation from the other tables. The music basically loud electronic music remixes.

Happy Wandering Wednesday! After checking out a very cool, historic house/church/museum my friend and I were very excited to stumble into Burger Fabriek. Neither of us had been to one before but as we walked in and smelled the doctors aromas in the air we decided to give it a go. I'm sure glad we did, the food was delicious. When I first moved to Amsterdam I was not impressed with burgers at restaurants here, they just tasted funny to me. Through the last few years there seems to have been a big change as now we are finding very tasty burgers in town. And Burger Fabriek has a good one. Very generous portions of Burger and fries and end result is a juicy, yummy meal.
