If you have not picked up on this already, please be aware that the reviews do not seem organic at all considering that they are almost always posted in large batches and in a relatively short amount of time between one another. Other reviews have pointed out that they may be buying reviews as well.
Anyway, we came here a few days ago wanting to grab a bite and go as we were trying to catch the train. The service was sub standard; as soon as we walked in we saw an employee (blonde, short hair Dutch man) flirting with his coworker instead of taking orders. Furthermore, we ordered two sandwiches and I saw that the incorrect sandwich was put in the system so I pointed out to him. To my surprise he became very aggressive and condescending towards us, saying that “But you ordered a [insert sandwich here]”. I asked if he could change it then, to which he answered “But you said you wanted this one” (keep in mind that the prices of the two were the same). I may sound like a dick here but having worked in the restaurant sector, this is definitely not the attitude. Is it that hard to go to the kitchen and say “hey change to this instead”? Is it that hard to say “oh, okay, I’ll change it to this instead”? Is it that hard to repeat the order after the customer has ordered?
Oh, I forgot to mention. We did not even get our sandwiches because they took over 30 minutes and we would’ve lost our train otherwise. There goes 20€ down the drain I guess as we couldn’t even get their attention because they were too busy “talking”. The restaurant was not even 1/2 seated and there were two other people in line waiting for their orders, so I do not know what went wrong here.
Anyways, I hope this is only a one location thing, as the one next to Rokin has far better and superior service (as well as speed).

Read moreWe went to the Sandwichshop in Amsterdam because of the good reviews on Google. At first, the shop was quite busy and full, but luckily we managed to find a table for our group of four. We used the QR code at the table to place a single order for everyone. Each of us ordered something to eat and something to drink.
When the coffee and the iced matcha latte arrived for two of us, we noticed that the extra mango addition for the iced matcha latte was missing. We mentioned it to the waitress, and she quickly added it without any issue. Shortly after, our food was served.
The food tasted good, but it didn’t really look like the pictures on the website where we had ordered. For example, the bread looked quite different from what was shown online, so we felt a bit underwhelmed.
While we were eating, we realized the other two coffees still hadn’t arrived, so we told the waitress. She assured us she would bring them soon. However, even after we finished our food, the drinks still hadn’t come. We asked again, and she said she would prepare them immediately. After waiting some more, the drinks still didn’t show up, so we reminded her once more. Eventually, she made them, but it took about 45 minutes for the last...
Read moreThis was hands down the worst service experience I’ve had during my entire stay in Amsterdam. While most of the staff at this sandwich shop seemed kind and welcoming, the woman who claimed to be the manager an older lady was shockingly rude and dismissive.
We waited patiently for over 30 minutes. She acknowledged our presence and assured us she would attend to us shortly. Despite people behind us walking away due to the wait, we remained understanding, expecting at least basic courtesy when our turn came.
Unfortunately, when she finally approached us, there was no apology or effort to assist just a blunt, “No,” and a cold “I can’t do anything about how long you waited.” Her tone and attitude were completely uncalled for and left us feeling frustrated and disrespected.
If this is how they treat customers who show patience and understanding, it’s hard to recommend this place especially when there are so many other spots in Amsterdam that value...
