English Pub London Bridge Amsterdam — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Edit: changed from 1 star to 2 after the owners response below, I'll visit again when I'm there in a couple of months and update if anything has improved.

Original review: This is by far the worst pub I've ever been to in Amsterdam.

Despite visiting Amsterdam several times a year for over a decade, this was the first and last time I'll be stepping foot in this pub. The bar man was an absolute bell. Horrible and rude from the minute we walked in. He had an English / cockney accent... and the face of a fermented gherkin.

I ordered half a pint because I was steaming already, and he started going on about how "nobody orders a half, what's up with you?"... not in a joking, friendly way, but with a look of anger on his pickled face. He goes on and on and on about it, despite nobody thinking he was funny at all.

After spending 5 minutes too long here, I decided to have a pint, in the next pub.

Amsterdam is a beautiful city with some amazing pubs, bars and restaurants, with welcoming, happy staff. This is not one of them, don't waste your time...

That’s not true, it was never communicated and you know to that. We called up to book table, you said it was fine, we dropped in to check Out the space, you said 125 deposit, all good. On the day you say we won’t get it back or it won’t be addsed to bill. We live in Amsterdam and could’ve chosen lots of other bars. We wanted to come to your place as we thought it would be fun English atmosphere… you chancers thought you could make a quick bit of money and you did…We also forgot to mention you also sold our table to someone else right in front of us… how does that make sense??? Hahaha

Scam artists. We booked a table for 25 to watch the football. We went to check the place out and they asked for a £125, no problem. Upon arrival they told us we won’t get the money back or it won’t go towards the bar. Absolute disgrace. They bar staff were so rude and aggressive. They also service a pint of Guinness for €10 and have no clue how to pour one. We left straight away. Avoid...

Don’t go!! The bartender was extremely dishonest. My girlfriend and I stopped by for a beer and paid around €18 cash for the first round.

We ended up having a good chat with the bartender so we decided to get a second round (same beers) after he offered to get us a shot (he also had one with us). Not something I would choose, but it was a “cum” shot but he said he wanted us to try something funny.

When I requested the bill, he charged us €70 for the shots and the beers. I told him the price was absolutely ridiculous and he got irate. I told him I refused the charges and he wouldn’t accept AMEX. I paid with another card and walked out. Very disappointed! I wouldn’t visit this pub as there are many within 100m that will not...
