Het Elfde Gebod — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I have been a long time client of this great and unique establishment. I always bring clients here because of the immense choice of quality bottles and tap. Today was an exception. We arrived just 5min before opening at 3h55. The barman was Victor. It started well until I asked him to turn the AC system off because it was very noisy and annoying. I said it was impossible because it would become too warm. We are a cyclist tourism company and I can confirm it was cold and rainy this day. I mean 10 degrees. The bar was chilly not warm at all. He still refused to put the AC off even if it was noisier than the nice music. I went back to him but since he was busy with clients, I picked up a spool of tape and taped the baffle of the AC to stop the rattle annoying noise. Then Victor saw me and stared screaming at my not to touch is stuff. I mean, I work in hospitality business and this reaction was totally rude and unacceptable. This American guy doesn't deserve to be in charge in this so unique bar. This is a tourist area and it means very good customer service. This dude sure doesn't has a clue about offering a enjoyable environment to his customers. I will be back like I use to be but never again when this employee is doing is power trip. This place is way too nice to hire...

Our favourite pub in Amsterdam. Eclectic and eccentric in all the best ways. Very historic and antique, wood panelled interior with a vast and delicious array of beer, wine and spirits on offer. Awesome tunes too (no middle of the road soul, funk, disco that a lot of other brown bars seem to play, more of a rock/metal vibe). We had such fun and got so drunk on beer+Jenever that we forgot our bag and had to return the next day to pick it up. Thankfully the bar team are super professional at their jobs, recognised us straight away and handed it back to us. Can’t recommended it enough. Thanks to Daniel and the rest of the crew for making us feel so welcome and hope to see you next time we are in town. A proper pub that does...

Been coming here for years. One of the best run beer bars in town. John really knows his stuff and stocks so many unusual and interesting beers from all over the place. Great collection of regulars, beer tourists, and people who just happen to stumble in off the Zeedijk. Can't wait to make it back.

Well we made it back again this week, and John and company did not disappoint. We had an absolute blast hanging at Het Elfe Gebod and drinking some of the amazing and diverse beers they had to offer.
