This morning, February 12, 2025, I had an awful experience at Julia’s in Amsterdam Central Station (IJ Hal). I ordered a cappuccino, and when I went to grab a lid, there were four different sizes on the counter. I tried a couple, but they were either too small or too big. To avoid making a mess, I politely asked which lid was the right one. The middle-aged woman with dark skin at the counter snapped at me, saying, “It’s in front of you.” Well, it wasn’t the right lid. When I asked again, instead of helping like a normal employee, she Yelled the same thing at me. Turns out, the correct lid was actually the furthest one from me. So not only was she rude, but she was also completely wrong.
This kind of attitude is unacceptable. If you hate your job that much, don’t take it out on customers. She ruined my morning with her nasty attitude and incompetence. Do better, Julia’s. Train your staff properly or replace them with people who actually know how to treat customers with...
Read moreI like the concept of build your own pasta dish. But I wish the screens and tables showed better what was actually included. You can buy cheese and green topping as extra, but why should you as they put it on for free anyway? I ordered the pesto pollo sauce. I have no idea why they even cared about calling it pollo as there were barely trace amounts of chicken in the sauce. The people working there were smiling and friendly and asked if I wanted baby spinach and cheese on top. As I'm not a fan of parmesan (Julia's call it italian cheese, but it look parmesan like) i said no. So by thanking no to the baby spinach i obviously said no to the ruccola I had already paid for too. Taste was good, but very mild. No wonder why they asked if I wanted additional pesto paste on top. In short: good concept, but make the ordering process easier and give the customer what...
Read moreOur experience was terrible. The screen is the only way to order and doesn’t have translation option. I tried to use an app to translate but it was slow and the line was long so I didn’t want to hold people. My friend ordered a roasted hazelnut latte and they gave her a cold one instead of a hot one, thanks to the screen being the only option to order. Another friend was asking for black tea. They showed her a box of teas and said whatever we have is in here. Overall so rude and the centraal station is where all tourists come for sure so you would hope that they would be more kind. I recommend going to the coffee shop right across from Julia’s. The staff is so good and the food is better too (and more affordable!!)
I hope the staff here can get some training. Maybe this energy trickles down from the top and it’s not really their mistake, they have to...
