La Madonna — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Reasonable priced food - comes in big portions - tastes fine

La Madonna is a great restaurant/pizzaria if you want a reasonably cheap meal (considering you're in $Amsterdam$) but still want to sit somewhere without fluorescent lights above your head. Because it isn't right in the middle of the center or on the busiest street you can enjoy a quiet meal here without hordes of loud tourists shouting across the restaurant. Still the location is perfect as it is on walking distance from both the train station and the center.

The interior of the place has an nice Italian theme but isn't over the top. They have wooden chairs (so no cheap plastic sweaty chairs in the summer yay!). They also keep the place nice and clean (the toilet can be a bit smelly though).

If you fancy a simple pizza or pasta this is a good place for you. The portions are quite large, so you get good value for your money (I do not know if this is the same for their other dishes). The food also tastes very good for the price you pay for it, which is around 8 euros average (for pizza/pasta). You can order soda's in s/m/l, I normally choose L (4,80).

The service can be a little better sometimes though. Some of the waiters seem quite disinterested in their job, which is not nice for a guest. The wait times can also be a bit long sometimes, as either the waiter isn't paying attention or they forgot your order (the latter happened only once + we got free bread).

In conclusion it is a nice little average restaurant with standard pizza an pasta for an reasonable price. The service is OK, but...

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. Avoid like the plague. The staff are so rude its unbelievable but for good food we could easily look past that. Sadly, that is not the case. The food took a long time to come and was voted as the WORST MEAL EVER EATEN by our group. The carbonara was full of curdled milk and slimy, raw egg. We have all had bad stomachs due to the horrendous meal we could only stomach a small portion of. The manager brought in a large dog in the middle of the meal and placed it next to us. Even as a dog lover, this is not welcome at a sit down evening meal. It notably made a lot of people uncomfortable in the restaurant. The final point... avoid if you want to enjoy your trip to Amsterdam or feel free to go if you want to spend the next 24...

DO NOT GO HERE!!! "Upon entering the establishment, we were immediately approached to discuss the billing details prior to placing our order. This was quite unexpected and set a somewhat unwelcoming tone for our dining experience. The food was not good, and it felt like microwave food. Pizza was not properly cooked, and i ordered grilled chicken with vegetable sauce. It was with random, ready to eat tomato sauce, and it was raw. Additionally, the service we received felt inattentive and somewhat reluctant, as if our presence was a burden. It's important for the hospitality industry to prioritize customer service and ensure all patrons feel valued and eager...
