Mesiba — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I came here once before when they had just opened and the food was excellent. So I went back yesterday quite excited to share it with a different friend. However we were gravely disappointed. The menu had changed and none of the lovely things I had had the time before were served anymore Except the eggplant fritters which were now done way to dark and hard , where they had been just the right mix of gooey and crispy last time. We each ate one then left the rest because it was just plain awful. Also the other dishes we ordered were disappointing. The grilled sardines were super dry and hard. The tartare not super fresh, And a serving of ceviche was tasty, but nor bigger than one tablespoon full. (the serving on the the side of some kind of cheese (with fish?!) was more than the fish itself) Absolutely do not...

Unfortunately had a bad experience. Made a reservation for my birthday two weeks in advance, got to the restaurant and needed to wait (standing) 30 min to get seated.

Staff didn’t really seem to care. Orders took long and were incomplete. Some of my guest never got their food. Told them that if I knew how horrible this would be I wouldn’t have booked them for my birthday.

Also, cocktails were served without passion fruits but the influencer table next to us seemed to have plenty of passion fruits to spare.

Really odd and underwhelming experience. They should’ve left the Hula Hula restaurant in that building, where they treat people with decency and actually care if someone is celebrating...

Went here for drinks with girlfriends. The ambiance is quite nice, although yeah, it's pretty much an influencers' place. Cocktails were good. However, our full drinks which we left on the table next to us while dancing, dissapeared twice within the night (either taken by other guests or taken away by waiters). It's 12 euros for a cocktail so when we raised this issue with bartenders, no one seemed to care, except the red long haired bartender. He was nice enough to provide us with free drinks after we told him the issue for the second time. Overall fun experience but please be more attentive to guests who don't belong to the world of...
