The most rude and aggressive service we have ever received. The man ignores us at first, and then we say we’d like two falafel wraps. He responds rudely and asks if we want spicy hummus. I look at my husband and think for a minute, then shake my head (my husband and I are sharing a wrap, and I don’t like spicy). My husband says, “Not spicy.” But the man ignores my husband, continues to stare at me, and says, “NO, you must address ME. I am the CHEF.”
I. am. gobsmacked. Who does this man think he is? I am so confused at this point.
He asks again if we want both of them spicy, and I look at my friend who wants the other wrap. The man just stares at me. My friend then replies to him, and he obviously didn’t realize the other wrap is for my friend.
I say, “We are sharing a falafel,” pointing between me and my husband. The man is clearly embarrassed but not apologetic at all. He confirms the order and tells us the price (we later realize he overcharged us!). Then he asks if we want it cut in half since we are sharing. I say, “Yes, please.”
He then says to me, “OH, SO YOU CAN TALK.” I am literally speechless. “You were just STARING at me so…” he continued.
I said, “Wow, can I have my money back, please, because I am not okay with this.” He says, “Yeah, me neither.” Then he thankfully gives us our money back before we even received our food.
I was so shaken up. What a horrible, entitled, misogynistic man. All you can probably guess, ALL the 1 star reviews are from women. He wouldn’t even be on this planet, let alone able to run his chauvinistic business, if it wasn’t for his mother who...
Read moreThis is probably the best falafel I have ever eaten, absolutely delicious! But don’t think because this place looks like a food truck you’ll get your food quickly. I have been twice, first time I noticed the owner does everything alone at a very relaxed pace. Even chatting extensively with some regulars while there are orders waiting and people waiting to order.. I was concerned after 20 minutes, was I forgotten? But no, the system is in his head and he remembers everything. I kind of admire his relaxed way of working in a way (yet I was getting pretty hungry..) - but it also looks like he doesn’t appreciate people asking if it’ll be long (learned by observation…). Second time I biked by and thought ha! no one there! and i have like 15 minutes to spare… but still I only got my food after 25 minutes because he waited for other orders to come in - he makes batches 😊. Still delicious (but had to be late for my next appointment). Bottom line: if you have time, I would say calculate like 30 minutes or so to be sure, go here, sit in the sun, have amazing falafel and enjoy the dynamics in this business as it is pretty entertaining. But when in a hurry, you may...
Read moreWhat I really liked about this food stand is that the ingredients are really fresh and the food is prepared in an hygienic manner (saw staff thoroughly washing their hands and using gloves). Portion size was also big. The falafel wrap did not meet my expectations (which were hyped by several reviews and mentions in media) - it was not bad, but it also didn’t seem very special. I was excited for the added ingredients like mint and pomegranate which I think would make it different from most other falafel places, but these ingredients were used only very sparingly which made them hard to taste. One of our two smoothies (mango avocado mint) was warm, as if prepared with milk not from the fridge, and we didn’t finish it because it was a bit gross because of the warm temperature. The other one (blueberry banana) was cold, fresh and good. Overall, glad to have tried this and the wrap filled me up for a good couple of hours, but not sure if I’d return. We paid €34,60 for two wraps and...
