Tl;dr: the menu advises you to tell the staff if you have food allergies - don't bother, go elsewhere. There are many excellent places that deal in kindness and respect. This place doesn't deserve your money.
Visited here last night and left thoroughly disappointed and insulted after an hour of waiting, without having eaten or receiving our drinks.
I have food allergies and I'm vegan. Due to the nature of my allergies, I occasionally eat animal products in restaurants as many vegan meals contain ingredients I cannot eat. This is a personal choice informed by my health. Last night I checked with the waitress for the possibility of an allergen in a vegan pizza. She could not answer me so asked the chef and told us the chef would come to speak to me.
Our drink order was eventually taken after 20 mins of being seated. We waited another 20 for the chef to come to our table. I was told that I couldn't have the vegan cheese due to allergens so I asked if I could have mozzarella instead on the same vegan pizza. The chef repeated three times that he hates to change pizzas but that I could order this way if I had to. He then asked why I didn't order a non-vegan pizza if I eat cheese (ordering from the vegan menu assures me there are no other animal products in the ingredients of the pizza besides the change I had to make). It was a bizarre and insulting exchange which left me feeling inconvenient and unreasonable for requesting a minor change to a meal so that I could eat in a restaurant with my friends.
After this conversation we expected to be able to order, however as all of the tables beside us were cleared and cleaned, our drinks never arrived and despite several requests, our order was never taken. After 65 minutes, we got up and left. It appeared to us that the chef had told the staff not to take our order or deliver our drinks. This is the only explanation for the other tables receiving their orders without issue while we were continually fobbed off and waited for service.
Truly disappointing. Taking pride in a menu is admirable, however inflexibility to this level is childish nonsense. I hope the chef has a change of heart and ceases patronising his customers.
EDIT TO ADD THE FOLLOWING IN RESPONSE TO OWNER: Please note that I did not ask for meat. I asked for the vegan cheese to be removed from the pizza and you suggested yourself to replace this with mozzarella. Which never happened. We weren't allowed to order.
The restaurant had been busy, however the tables around us ordered, received their food, ate, and left in the time we were sitting and waiting.
We shall not be returning; life is too short to gamble when it...
Ā Ā Ā Read more5 āļøstars for staff. The waitresses were really polite and friendly, the top point of the place. For sure they were just following orders with the answers (1h stay, 1 pizza per person, canāt share).
After all that happened (please, read the whole review to understand) I was really hoping that at least the pizza could worth the wait and price (average pizza price nov/2024, so was expecting much more). ā¹ļø
We arrived without a reservation as we were still thinking were to go (by the way, the website asks ā¬10 for person to reserve a table). Upon arrival it was said that without a reservation, we would be able to say for 1h maximum.
We ordered two ālemon juiceā and a vegan pizza, the main reason of going to this place, as I had read many good reviews and there were 7 options.
A few moments later the waitress returned saying the chef wanted us to order one pizza each, that we couldnāt share it.
Usually we share as one pizza is too much (as you can clearly see the picture, half goes to waste as we are travelling, and we donāt think itās good to waste food).
As we didnāt have a reservation, we should have paid for the juices and went to the first place I had found earlier.
Or even better to eat pasta at the same restaurant we went yesterday called Pasta Pasta (small place, fabulous fresh pasta and service). However we ordered two pizza as told, two marguerita, one of them vegan.
The pizzas came quickly, looking beautiful but unfortunately not tasty, the dough was not light, not good. The vegan cheese was blend and tasteless, and nowadays there are good ones.
If we would have had a good experience for sure we would return during our stay (a week), but after all that happened there is no way. Total waste of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreInitially, we were looking forward to trying this restaurant following good reviews on google, however it seems they must have been written by the restaurant themselves as what we experienced was shocking.
We booked a table, but unfortunately did not manage to make it on time, so spoke to a waitress who offered for us to wait for a table, which we were happy to do. After waiting for almost half an hour (25 minutes), and multiple groups of walk ins being sat down at empty tables around us, another member of staff who was initially told about our situation (we literally saw her telling him) then had the audacity to ask us āhello, can I help you?ā after ignoring us for the whole period we waited. We politely explained that we had spoken to his colleague (who had conveniently disappeared), and that we still waiting for a table for about half an hour. He said that they are fully booked for tonight, and we will not be able to sit down. Obviously confused, we explained that his colleague said we should wait for a table, and then we got informed that a table would never be available as they only have enough dough based on reservations. Still unsure what happened to the dough from our previous reservation. This was frankly a ridiculous excuse as people were walking in and being sat down still as we left. After waiting so long, all of the restaurant kitchens closed around us, so they essentially ruined our evening.
This has been the worst restaurant experience we have ever endured, and would strongly advise all to...
