An absolutely brilliant place to spend a great evening. Perfect balance of great food, broad selection of drinks and quick service.
Ambience: (5/5) I recommend sitting outside as there is a lot to love when enjoying the bustle of the Pijp. The place is also not too loud outside.
Food: (5/5) The nachos was really really good. The guacamole was so well made. The jalapeño was generously distributed which I loved since the bit of spice always makes it a great bite. The holland steak was really really well made. Extremely juicy and very flavourful. The vegan ballen was also really well made, the balance of the mustard was great too. Overall loved all the food.
Service: (5/5) One of the best in a city!! A special call out to Demi who waited out table. She was so quick with taking orders and coming to check whenever our glasses looked to be getting near empty. It was so refreshing to see such good service.
Summary: (5/5) Looking for a place in the Pijp to spend and evening, then look no further. This place has the best mix of all the various things you would need... highly recommended!! I will...
Read moreThis old review down below is now a distant past but I am going to leave it there as a reminder on how easy it is to screw up a business. After the pandemic, this place has turned into a miserable joint where you could spend more than half an hour without anyone even noticing you sitting there waiting to be served. We went in, sat, waited about 20 minutes until one of many many waiters even looked at us to give us a menu. And then waited another 25 minutes without anyone coming to take orders from us. We decided to just leave. Doesn't look like this place cares one way or the other. Pandemic relief has probably made the owners lazy and the staff doesn't care.
The staff super nice and friendly and the neighborhood is quite lively even near midnight. The place stays open until well past midnight but the kitchen only works until around 11. My wife and I had snack (dutch plate) and drinks. We will definitely visit the place and with metro line 52 operating now it's within walking distance to De...
Read moreI stumbled across the place in the pouring down rain. It looked good so why not. Beside, I could not find the restaurant I was originally looking for. A happy accident.
I had the beef sandwich, fries, and mint tea. The sandwich was elegant and oh so yummy, I loved it. Fries, perfect with the mayo on the side. A nice touch to it all was the fresh mint tea with a touch of honey.
A bit out of the way but we'll worth it if you were at the museums like me. Forget the overrun overpriced tourist traps, drift into a neighborhood and experience the true Amsterdam. You won't be disappointed.
It was Tuesday and right around the corner was the most wonderful market. My God the seafood looked fresh out of the sea, fresh produce, georgeous chickens, a really nice selection. I just wish it was not raining so I could...
