Wow! The spicing and flavours of the food is outstanding.
I am a meat eater, but currently eating vegetarian for a few weeks, which is why I picked this restaurant, after searching for best Vegetarian restaurants in Amsterdam. They also serve meat dishes, but Nepalese and Indian cuisine has a lot of vegetarian options.
I ordered two vegetarian dishes, both were amazing. The Tshel Momo (vegetable momos) were delicious, not at all soggy (which is hard to do with dumplings containing lots of vegetables) - and full of flavour.
The Aaloo Gobi (cauliflower and potato curry) was equally delightful, with layers of fragrant spices and some heat (can be ordered spicier of you want).
I also ordered some naan, which was light, fluffy, with some crispy crusts, and the slightest hint of sweetness.
One of the best meals Iāve had in a while, and not a single piece of meat - which for a meat lover like me, means it had to taste out of this world - and it did. I can only imagine how good their meat dishes taste.
To top it all off, the service was fast, friendly, and always with a smile - even with a packed dining room.
Apologies for no photos - every plate was eaten before I thought to take any pictures.
If you are in Amsterdam - and are after either great Nepalese and/or Indian food, or some awesome vegetarian food - do yourself a favour and dine at Sherpa.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis is the third time Iāve been to this restaurant over the past couple of years and my experience has always been great. The food is always delicious and the owner and staff are very friendly and warm people.
Even though we came at 10:20pm, we were still greeted with a smile and happily accommodated. Although we were the last ones to leave and were still sitting there while the staff was having dinner, they didnāt try to rush us and were incredibly gracious.
We had the mint chicken tikka, jasha momo and yetiās food. Each dish tasted incredible and was so authentic and balanced.
We especially fell in love with the spicy green chutney that was served with the mint chicken tikka and asked for more and they brought us an entire bowl of it. They saw that we were raving about it and loved it so much that they offered to share their grandmaās recipe for preparing that which we thought was super sweetš«¶š¼
As this restaurant is so incredibly popular, itās always quite difficult to get a table and the space could be a bit bigger but I hope that their restaurant continues to remain successful and one day they can move to a bigger space.
Canāt wait to be back here when Iām in...

The staff were exceptional, welcoming & the service was alert all the time we spent in the restaurant I ended up leaving them a small tip as I felt it was necessary and well deserved....10/10 would recommend to anyone who has a delectable appetite for an Indian, Nepalese & Tibetean Cuisine. This restaurant is not a tourist trap, the quality of food and services perfectly match the price.which is very reasonable & afforadable for all visiting Amsterdam.
