Tacos and tequila has a chill atmosphere on the inside. Thank gosh for the fans blowing because it is on the warmer side. We were greeted immediately by the “host” asking if we had a reservation (that might be important on busy nights, but this was 2:30pm on Monday). Her main disclosure was that we can’t split the tab and they take no cash.
Ordering was easy—the app had pictures for every item that I looked at. The drinks came out extremely fast. The bartender/food runner (Jason) was extremely polite compared to his counterpart. When asked he disclosed the best drink was the mango caliente margarita—warning it’s very spicy. We did over hear her scolding him about a table he sat down: “Why didn’t you tell them about the no cash one bill”. He is friendlier than her definitely.
Okay now the food. We got 6 tacos in total: my plate was 2 pollo and one birria. The pollo was great and the salsa verde they have here is amazing, especially if you like garlic. The red sauce has a mesquite taste to it. The birria is tender and has a lot of flavor! My partner got the chicken, birria and the chicharron tacos. He said the pork was phenomenal. Would definitely come back here for food alone and Jason is awesome. Suggestion to make a reservation if you expect to come on a weekend or around dinner times. Also maybe the restaurant find out a way to split the...
Read moreOne of the best places to go for Mexican food. There's a lot of menu options to pick from. The food comes really quickly and service is quite fast. There's plenty of small little appetisers and small bites to start with.
The tacos are really nice and there's plenty of different ones to go for. You can go for plenty of other dishes as well like a burrito, bowl or grill and plenty more. You van add extra toppings to your dishes too and make them just the way you want to.
Each of them can come with its own type of sauce. All of the saices have quite a range of spiciness as well so there something for everyone.
Drinks are mainly themed around tequila which makes sense for the place. There's also other drinks to go for and there's some non alcoholic options too.
Desserts are limited but they're all classics that are nice to have after a filling dinner.
The atmosphe is lovely and the place is very well decorated. There's quite a chill vibe and things are pretty calm despite of how busy the place is.
The only downside is that there's not a lot of space so a reservation is pretty much needed to get a spot. It's not a big issue since booking a spot is quite easily done online.
I highly recommend this place. It's an amazing place to go for some tasty...
Read moreI am not one for restaurants in tourist hubs, but we were hungry, and this place looked cute. The decor and layout is very cute and welcoming. However there were several issues that made me lower this rating from a four to a three. First, we waited quite a long time for a server to acknowledge us to get a table, even though there were several working. I will admit that the Patacones side was excellent. Unfortunately after waiting for our order for quite a while, we were brought the check. It seems there were some mistake and our order was forgotten. Our server, who was very nice, quickly put in our order again when this was realized. Unfortunately again, what came out was not quite what we had ordered. I am pretty easy going and do not like to waste food so I decided to just eat what was provided. The chicken had several pieces of gristle, and did not seem of good quality. The shrimp taco was actually pretty good. The salsas and general flavoring of the dishes were good. I thought the size of the margaritas was quite small for the price, although the flavor there also was good.
In summary, several issues, the food was a mixed experience, drinks really small, but the servers very nice. ...
