Ristorante Italiano Peppino — Restaurant in Amsterdam

I came here with my sister because it was cheap and that’s the only reason I’m giving 1 star. The food is pre-made and frozen. I ordered a burrata expecting it to be creamy, it was a solid block of cheese with three cherry tomatoes cut in half, the cheese didn’t even taste like mozzarella, the taste was something more string cheese. My sister ordered the frutti di mare pasta and couldn’t even finish it because how bad it was, she described the pasta as overcooked and at the same time hard and said the seashell made her nauseous. Because the price of their pizza's is so low, so is the quality of the ingredients. It will fill your stomach, but living on this will not be good for your health. The pizza's and pasta's seem to have cheese as the main ingredient alongside dough, which is okay for a pizza but makes the pasta's and lasagna seem to drown in it. Because of it, all other flavours besides "cheese" seem to disappear. Another thing is that ordering drinks is obligatory to sit down and eat, and tap water is not an option. Very much a decent Italian restaurant to dine at in Amsterdam. Went here with NYE as a group and we were cared for quite well by the staff. We had a delicious quality white wine along with a wide variety of dishes. What I liked was the most was the Arancini, it was delicious in taste and a true treat for the mouth. The pizza's we had were overall very well-made with good dough and rich in ingredients. The only thing is that it missed an extra flavour (especially for the Verdura pizza), for example a herb like Basilicum. Also the Espresso Martini missed a flavour, a tone of sweetness.
