I had a slightly bizarre experience in that place. I ordered a standard pizza with extra of gorgonzola and when the pizza arrived it had no gorgonzola on it. Actually a friend of mine ordered the same pizza only that without the extra of gorgonzola and when the waiter brought the pizzas and we mentioned that one was supposed to have gorgonzola he looked surprised and indistinctly placed the pizzas on our table. That was a bit rude, but no problem. My friend and I even exchanged a couple of slices to see if they tasted different or if maybe the cheese was under the mozzarella base or something. But no. There was no gorgonzola at all. No big deal to be honest, that happens all the time in restaurants. The bizarre show started later, when I mentioned to the waiter the no-gorgonzola thing to the waiter. I told him that it was not a problem and that as long as he did not charge us the extra gorgonzola it was fine (we already ate one third of our pizza by then anyways). Then he came to our table, put his face way to close to our pizzas, and complained about something to another waiter. 10 minutes later another waiter (or the cook, who cares) brought a dish with 5 slices of cold gorgonzola cheese (when I literally had just 3 slices of pizza left). They charged us the gorgonzola and I promised myself to write a bad review (my first bad review ever, I promise) to that place....
Read moreExtremely disappointing experience. We walked into this pizzeria hoping for a relaxed meal, but the staff’s behavior was shockingly rude. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet they refused to let us dine because we ordered just one Margherita pizza to share and didn’t want drinks. Instead of welcoming customers, they lectured us on their “policy.”
In a busy area like Leidseplein where every other place was lively and friendly, this one stood out for its arrogance and complete lack of hospitality. If a restaurant is half-empty during dinner time, maybe it’s not the customers who need to change — it’s the attitude. Would never recommend this place to anyone visiting Amsterdam.
It’s interesting that instead of addressing the rude behavior, you chose to lecture me on “food culture.” A good restaurant doesn’t measure guests by how much they order — it shows courtesy regardless. If serving a single pizza is such a burden, perhaps it says more about your attitude than my order. Clearly, hospitality isn’t on your menu, which explains why you’re not exactly a...
Read moreI ate a vegetarian calzone here, around 10pm. Service was very fast, it was on my table in no time at all. The sides of the calzone were just bread, but the core was full of artichokes, cheese and bell peppers. It was also accompanied by quite a number of black olives. It was served with a tomato sauce poured on top, which was good, but my personal taste would be to not have it included next time. Ordering a drink was mandatory, and because I was eating alone I was not allowed to sit outside. Instead I had a table just adjacent to the open window. Summary: 5 EUR for most pizzas and pastas is a steal (especially a tasty calzone full of vegetables), and 2.50 EUR for a soft drink means they're not ripping you off with that either (which is a common practice in Amsterdam, to lure you in with a cheap meal and then charge a large fee for drinks). This all combined with being in easy walking distance of the famous Leidse Plein means that I highly recommend the place, regardless of the small...
