El Pastor Eindhoven — Restaurant in Eindhoven

Had plenty of Mexican food and this really held up nicely.

Really wanted to give this a 5 start; each dish had an intentional flavour profile and it's a small menu so everything feels very purposeful, but the flagship taco, the El pastor was maybe the least interesting. Given its their flagship I felt I had to take some points. I also found their totopos salsas a bit mild for my taste but perhaps this is to appeal to the Dutch palette.

Portions are small for the price but I actually appreciated this later on as I got to try a few things ( splitting with a friend) and didn't leave too heavy.

I'm not vegan/ veg but just reading the pumpkin tacos Ingredients had me curious. Did not dissapoint. I would recommend this for the flavour even over the meat options.

Hot sauces on the table were nice to have.

Corn cake was really balanced. Sweet, spicy, earthy, tart, hot and cold are all there. A great way to end the meal. You will be satisfied and won't feel regret for taking on the extra calories!

Super friendly staff. Maybe a bit disorganized, as they were out of natural wines, the chardonnay was not chilled and the ordering process was rather lengthy. You could consider part of the charm of the restaurant. The classico ceviche was absolutely brilliant!! The taco's very good, and the corn cake brilliant again. Whatever could be improved in the logistics, they more than make up for in the quality and taste of the food. An actual South American may miss a bit of hot chili, but you can fix that with a variety of homemade chili sauces. I am not a big fan of the food sharing concept and recommend ordering a ceviche just for you (they are also too small for sharing). Anyway.. great place. Ceviche was good alittle over priced for the portion but it’s worth if you have a little snack/craving like I did. El pastor came with a good amount of meat that I could of made a Third Taco if I had a tortilla. The flavor was their just needed some salt. If you are Latin and use to big portions of food for you buck this isn’t Not that place. This is more of snack in the Netherlands.
