We went to Groningen for two days, as short getaway with all our children being abroad at the same time 😉 We wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam. Honestly: I quickly picked a destination and Groningen turned out to be a bit of a mistake 😅 After a quite boring half day, we went for dinner at Anno Domini. And boy did this restaurant make our getaway. The restaurant is beautifully decorated (which isn't super important but a nice plus), the staff is very friendly and really tends to the customers, asking several times during our dinner if we needed anything else, if everything was alright. And of course the most important part: the food. That was absolutely delicious. We had bruschette first, my husband had the swordfish as main dish and I had the pasta with the trufflecreamsauce. All in all very unprofessional and they also didn’t offer an alternative. I asked if I could walk by to pick the pizza up but that also wasn’t possible. No apology or...

The food was very mixed - good bruschetta and gnocchi, ok pizzas and tiramisu, and poor pasta - the tomato sauce was undercooked and the pasta stuck together. It would also be good if the servers could pronounce the names of the dishes correctly (a small point, but important in an Italian restaurant). The atmosphere was pleasant so not a bad experience overall. They did accommodate the youngest member of the group - 6 years old - with a...
