We went to eat Biryani like we always do in London but this was rather a disappointment. Let me start with place itself. No music on the background, empty walls and basically lacking any atmosphere.
When we ordered we said we wanted the vegan version of the Biryani. After that we got offered some Papadums with two small sauces. When we asked if the one sauce had milk the answer of the waiter was no. But he went to check out if it did or did not. He came back and said it didn't but it was yoghurt.... We we said we couldn't eat it that. In which he just lifter his shoulders and left.
After that our meal came with....you guess it....yoghurt sauce. We said we cannot eat any dairy products and so he grabbed the sauce and left. No comment for a replacement or anything.
The Biryani has some strange spices and didn't really taste like Biryani. It was full of roasted onions and a long story short we were famished and needed to eat something so we ate it. When we were done the waiter came with some water....to flush the meal away as he said.
After we finished our meal we decided it was time to leave. At the counter he asked me if the meal was good. I said not really. He didn't really answer nor react to it. But he did ask me if we made a reservation. Duh!!
So we left, disappointed...
Read moreWe had dinner here as a party of four people. This was our second visit, having been here in 2022, which was an ok experience.
This is the first time we've been to a restaurant and vowed to never return. It was an awful experience from start to finish.
The staff are rude, and will lie to your face. Service is slow at best, as they take far too many delivery orders and make people in the restaurant wait. We arrived at 7:30PM and I had to call the waitress at 7:55PM to take our order. We then had to ask them at 8:30PM where our food was.
10 minutes later we were served the ordered dishes, however we took the tandoori lamb kebabs which had 0 spice indication on the menu. They were so spicy it wasn't edible for someone who has stomach issues like we do.
We asked the waiter to taste the food and he lied to our faces saying it had zero spice. We were sweating after eating some... Insane.
The waitress then proceeded to take the piss out of us in the kitchen "why come to an Indian restaurant if you can't handle spice?". I do not believe indian cuisine is just spicy dishes, but yeah whatever.
If you want to pay more than in any other indian restaurant for food that is not what they say it is and then be insulted, go here.
Worst experience in an expensive...
Read moreUpdate: First review of Buddha Eye was made two weeks ago. Since then, we have already eaten there 3 times. It's THAT good. We are addicted. Highly recommend.
Absolutely delicious! We had the Tasting for 2 people and word of advice: have an empty stomach because there will be a LOT of food. We were already nearly full after the appetizers! The main dish was so mouth-wateringly good that we asked to have the rest to take home (our bellies wanted to burst by then). Was no problem for them to pack it up to-go. Excellent service too! Seriously can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu (you have a LOT of...
