Went there for some lunch, we see it’s a big place and figured there might be bit of a wait time! Grabbed a table! Waited a bit! Waiter game over, young guy, blond curly hair, like really young (yes that matters in this context) For ordering drinks we didn’t have to wait that long, for getting drinks was bit of a wait! Then bit of a wait we got our drinks, understandable the person who brought drinks couldn’t take our order, so he sent someone over to take our food order! Which our waiter was present in couple of minutes! He took our order! Then the waiting started! Meanwhile my pornstar martini’s were nice, can’t go wrong there, iced teas had a good size, but not sweet! So we waited for our food, one of the kids ordered chocolate muffin, that came out before any other food, which I get, it probably comes from different section that kitchen! Then we waited some more! Nachos came out! Nachos were actually really nice! Tasty, with good sauces! But we waited some more…. Some more… some more…. No one really came to check on our table, if everything is fine or if we would like some more drinks…. After long wait time we had to wave someone down…. It was worker who was just a runner, so they sent an our waiter to us…. He came, we asked where is our burger and salad (we waited after nachos at least 30 minutes, before waving someone down) So now our young waiter had no interest being there I’d say…. We asked where our food, then he proceeded to check on his device… and walked off, with out saying any (sorry) I’ll check… not a word 🤣! So I assumed he’ll go and check and will let us know what’s going on! No, next moment he’s back on terrace… not letting us know anything, telling anything… 10 min later our food comes out! I had goat cheese salad-can’t go wrong with that!!! Partner had burger-bun was bit burnt, burger itself overcooked Come to time to pay… we...

Annie’s in Leiden is a gem that beautifully blends great food, outstanding service, and an idyllic canal-side setting. As a tourist unfamiliar with Dutch, my experience was enhanced by the exceptionally patient and accommodating staff. They navigated all my questions with a welcoming smile, making the dining experience not only stress-free but truly enjoyable. Their warm and attentive service reflects a level of professionalism that is both impressive and comforting.

The food at Annie’s is a highlight in itself. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, rich in flavor, and satisfying. It’s clear that quality ingredients and culinary expertise are at the heart of their offerings. Whether you’re in the mood for traditional Dutch fare or more diverse options, the menu caters to a wide range of palates, leaving every guest spoilt for choice.

The ambience of Annie’s is simply unmatched. Nestled beside a picturesque canal, the restaurant offers a quintessential Dutch dining experience. The tranquil water, charming boats, and historic architecture surrounding the area create an atmosphere that feels magical, especially during sunset. It's the perfect spot for tourists looking to soak in the essence of the Netherlands while enjoying a fantastic meal.

Overall, Annie’s is a must-visit in Leiden. Whether you’re a local or a traveler, it offers an unforgettable blend of delicious food, excellent service, and a setting that captures the charm of the Netherlands. I highly recommend it to anyone exploring this...

Excellent location, but the waiters have very poor training. We ordered a soup for starter and a main course. Our waitress brought us the main course first that we did not accept because our started should have arrived first. She brought back the main course to the kitchen and came back with the soup 15 mins later. Then we waited an awful lot for our main course. We ordered a hamburger with onion rings, but the onion rings were missing. Besides that, our son found a piece of plastic baked into the hamburger. We sent it back immediately. In the meantime the waitress scalded a customer at the one of the tables with hot water.

It's obvious that this restaurant employs university graduates without proper training and this is just so plain obvious in the level of service and the quality of the dishes. I am truly sad to see that such a beautiful restaurant has such a poor service due to lack...

We came here for drinks and food. This place did not disappoint. There is an IPA on draft and the service was very friendly and helpful. The dinner menu is in Dutch and English. We had the Annie's fried chicken to start. The sweet chilli sauce has a good kick to it (bonus). Our main course was the cheese fondue. I asked our waiter, will this be enough for 2 for a main course? At this point he replied, you can have extra veg and bread if required. NO!! You will not need this. This fondue is not for the faint hearted. By the time we were done. We were stuffed, but not too stuffed for a few more beers. Would like to come back here in the summer where you can sit outside on the canal and enjoy this food in the sun.

Honestly, really bad experience. The food was fine in taste but the whole service and attitude was really bad. When I received the sharing platter, they did not give me any napkins and no plate, I had to eat simply on the table. My friends ordered carpaccio and asked for olive oil to add and one lady said okay and never returned. Then, we asked for olive oil from another server and he gave us sunflower oil, not olive one, in a small cup, not even in a bottle. Then, receiving the bill they have added an additional 5 euro drink that we had not ordered at all.
