I went to this restaurant last 31st of October 2019 with my son to have dinner. There was one waiter and one blonde waitress. We went in and there's only one couple inside the restaurant and they have about 2 table outside with group of people. We went inside the restaurant a found a table then we saw the blonde waitress talking to the waiter so I stand and asked for an English menu and she said she will bring it to our table and continued in chatting with the other waiter. After 15minutes of waiting, my son told me he's hungry so I stand up and asked the waiter where is the blonde waitress whom I asked the menu. I said he just have to tell me where it is and I will get it myself. He started to say that they are very busy and they have ten people waiting for their orders and he cannot do everything all at once. What? Is it really that hard to give a menu to your customer? Clearly, they are not busy at all because we could see that the two of them were just chatting away. There was no food on their trays waiting to be served. And all I asked is just the menu so we can look at it and decide what to order. There was one woman also who came in about the same time with us, she has black hair but she is not Asian because I overheard her as she stand also to approach the waiter to order. She spoke Dutch. So, I don't know if the waiter and waitress in this restaurant are racist against Asian or they just have a very bad service because clearly we felt we were not welcome in that restaurant. So I walked out of that restaurant with my son. The waiter didn't even bother to say anything at all. So to all the people who plans to go to this restaurant, I don't know if their food is good or not but I can guarantee you that their...
Read moreWent to Dende last night with a group of 5. Welcome from the service was very friendly, however first thing for us to notice was that the door to the restaurant was open, whilst it was quite cold outside. When we asked the staff if they could close the door, they - politely- explained that they checked with the restaurant owners (who apparently live above the restaurant), and they did not allow to close it, as they want people outside know that the restaurant is open. We were offered to move tables, which we did, however it was still cold. Number of guests were sitting in their jackets and scarfs, and after 3rd time we asked, the owners agreed to close the door (by that time, we were almost finished with our desserts though). The owners are really shooting themselves in the foot with this policy. You can just put a sign on the door like “we are open” or something, but letting your guests to be cold, is simply not customer friendly.
Food:
had to sent two risotto’s back as they were cold Ribeye, whilst the waitresses advised to take it medium-rare (to what I was happy), I got the meat well done….
Service: they are really doing their best, and are friendly which is a great +, however they are clearly missing a training. Not knowing what dessert wine is (in general), calling out the receive amount out loud to all the guests, at times being way too...
Read moreI must say that the place is really nice! Next to the canal, drinking something refreshing on a Sunday or Saturday morning, it gives such a nice vibe to begin your day. But unfortunately I must say that my experience there wasn't good at all. I went there with friends and we ordered 15 minutes after we sat. One of the waiters came, and he took the order (one cold americano and two iced teas with peach). At least that's what we expected and about the tea, the guy had told us that they had peach iced tea. Eventually, they brought us iced tea with lemon flavor and a latte with caramel sirop. The thing that we didn't like the most was the reaction of the waiters who were stressed because of the crowd but at the same time not helpful at all. When we wanted to pay, we wanted to split, which happens very often in the Netherlands, and they even insisted that we pay all together. In general, the experience wasn't nice, and I'm sorry, but we'll definitely...
