Cheap food for a cheap price. The food doesn't feel like it has been cooked with an idea or a concept in mind. It actually feels like it hasn't been cooked by a cook at all... My beetroot carpaccio (advertised with goat cheese and almonds) had maybe 2 almonds in total and the amount of goat cheese was miserable... My main course was pork tenderloin wrapped in bacon and accompanied with mushroom sauce. First of all, it was very obvious that they had cut a tenderloin in two pieces. Ok, you pay 13 eur in the center of Leiden so that's ok. But the mushroom sauce really tasted like ready made mushroom sauce, just bought in the supermarket. Altogether with a gigantic portion of fries. Not joking, there are more fries than actual ordered food. As a desert I took the New York cheesecake. It was so obviously not homemade. Also didn't taste fresh, but rather sliced, stored and served.

All in all, I was expecting quite more. Of course, the portions can be small for that price, but the quality just doesn't hit the mark. I'd not go out for dinner to eat something I could have easily cooked...

Friendly staff and also well organised in terms of hygiene during this corona ordeal. For example there was a light you'd switch on for the entire restaurant to see if you are on the toilet to prevent close encounters, your table was double sized so everything was put on and taken from one table and you'd sit at the other, etc. For a decent price you'd get a 3 course menu which included tasty vegan options. Although if they wanted to include more of that, they should look at vegan mayonaise or soy yoghurt garlic sauce.

Het personeel was extreem onbeleefd en de service was verschrikkelijk. Iemand gooide een kaars midden op onze tafel en ik denk dat ze haast hadden, want ze slammed it down en renden weg. Mijn vriendin vroeg om water, maar ze keken haar niet eens aan. Ik moest vragen of ze haar bestelling hadden gehoord, en toen brachten ze het. Ik spreek Nederlands, maar mijn vriendin is Frans. Ik sprak met de serveersters in het Engels en ze antwoordden alleen in het Nederlands. Dit was extreem onbeleefd tegen mijn vriendin. Boze blikken gedurende de hele service. Bovendien was het een extreem ongeorganiseerde service. Onze reservering was van 17:00 tot 18:45 uur en toen we binnenkwamen, zeiden ze dat we te vroeg waren en om 18:45 uur moesten komen. Nadat de verwarring was verdwenen, aten we en om 19:00 uur vroegen ze ons of we nog iets wilden drinken en ook dat we moesten vertrekken. Twee keer door andere mensen. Ik snap niet waarom ze allebei willen dat we nog een drankje bestellen, maar ook vertrekken. Dit is de slechtste restaurantervaring van mijn leven en ik ben in veel meer informele restaurants geweest. Er was wel een serveerster die aardig was en glimlachte, maar zij was een uitzondering. Ik schaamde me dat ik mijn vriendin hierheen had gebracht met zo'n slechte service. Het eten was redelijk en ik vond het fijn dat er veel...
