Olympia Kitchen Bar — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Was really hoping that this would be a great place to celebrate Christmas but unfortunately right off the bat you could see how ill prepared the kitchen/staff was or purposefully lowered their quality for extra profit during the holidays.

The staff was really friendly but we were being served by 4 different people and as a results things were being forgotten. When we got our main we didn’t get the side of tzatziki and we waited for it and when we got it the food was cold.

Talking about food, being Greek myself I know how much we pride ourselves for our cuisine and simple yet great flavours but this was nothing close to this. The zucchini starter dish was reheated and probably sat there until someone ordered it, the ‘selection’ of meats for the main dish was the weirdest concept but even so none of the 5 different meats were cooked or seasoned properly.

Also the music was quite disturbing, at first we enjoyed the Greek classic Christmas hits but whoever was in charge was just changing the song after 30 seconds and jumping from rap to Greek folk music to Dutch songs. Really weird and distracting.

But most importantly this menu wasn’t worth the €55pp..

Hopefully this will be improved in the future as the venue was nicely put together and we liked...

We had a mixed experience at this restaurant. We booked a table in advance and went a couple weeks ago on a Saturday evening at 18:00. When we arrived, it was pretty chaotic, the staff looked busy and stressed. We waited quite a long time to be seated. Eventually we got seated at a table that literally faced a pillar (see photo). It was a terrible table, we literally couldn't see anything else in the restaurant and we really didn't understand why we were seated there as the restaurant was about 10% full and they had loads of other tables available, and in addition we had booked in advance?

Regardless, after being seated, we noticed a very unhappy family on the table next to us. The staff came by several times to apologize to them while we waited for over 30 mins for them to take our order. We also asked to change tables and they allowed us to do so luckily.

After that our experience got better. The table allowed us to look over the whole restaurant. And the mixed grill we ordered arrived super quickly and was pretty good. So we were happy.

When we were leaving however, we saw many more unhappy customers complaining to the staff though..

So in conclusion, I would say, consider coming here on a quieter week day but not...

It is a place with two floors and a large terrace. The length between tables was very narrow and some people cand find it unconfortable

We ordered these four dishes (in the picture) to share and they were really tasty. Unfortunatelly I didn't get the name of all these plates but I really steong recommend you the dish showing on the right side. This dish can be found in the part of "mixed dishes" of the menu and it is the one which has musaka

We ordered a red wine located in the first of the greek wines in the menu. The wine was sweet and good, however it would be greater if it was a little bit cold

For the dessert we ordered greek yoghourt with honey but it came with whipped cream. I recommend you asking this dessert...
