Vegan Junk Food Bar — Restaurant in Rotterdam

We went dinner and drinks with 8 girls. We’ve been coming to this vegan junk food bar for years and have loved it every time. We still enjoyed last night but there were definitely a few things that soured the experience. First of all, they didn’t tell us the closing time was 10 and we arrived at around 9 and the waitress took a while to take our food order. We finished shortly after 10 because we were very hungry and they didn’t rush us, which we appreciated but the waitress didn’t inform us that she was taking last rounds for drinks, and when we asked for tap water she said the kitchen was closed. We therefore shared the 3 drinks we had left between 8 girls. We had two empty glasses of water so I went to the bathroom to fill them since we were all very thirsty after having eaten burgers and fries. She then told us to please not do that.. I’m sorry but if you’re not going to inform us about last round of drinks and then say you can’t even provide tap water, then I’m going to get my own from the tap. Also, we knew going into the restaurant that the food is pricey, but they charge an extra €1 for sauce to go with fries… just regular...

I am not a junk food lover, and I am not vegan myself, but this is a great restaurant right there. Good selection on the menu and friendly staff. I ordered the super size kapsalon which is French fries topped with carrots, cheddar, vegan shawarma and plenty of sauces. Delicious and super filling to say the least! (Can be easily shared, ot be prepared to be full for hours to come!😁). My husband ordered the Mc Cruelty Free (burger with cheddar, lettuce, tomato, fried onion, pickles, and their special sauce). Flavor good, but too small for hubbys appetite (next time order 2!). For my son I ordered Daddy Mc Chik'n which is crispy chicken sandwich with vegan bacon cheddar, tomato, pickles and arugula on a pink bun. My son loved it!!

I also end up ordering @professor_grunschnabel caramel ice cream and the vanilla ice cream (for my son). Both delicious (I wish they were bigger!) Everything was goood! And service was relatively quick. Prize wise they are not what I consider "affordable", but definitely would go there when I am up...

Really a big disappointment!

Way to expensive for what you get. The T.R.U.F pizza is like 15 cm in a big box. So after receiving the box we thought NICE, but then a very tiny pizza is inside! It looks good and tasted nice but just not for 9!!! Euro.

The Notorious Sumo is a nice looking sandwich and tasted good, but for 15 euro and all the Insta reviews I had so high expectations, and while eating this burger I could not shake the feeling I was eating a sandwich of 15 euro!!!! To be honest it wasn’t that special!

If that feeling stays in your head it means your not satisfied and not blown away at all. I could pay less then half and order a plant-based burger at BK and would be more satisfied because I paid less money and enjoyed it equally.

If you really want a good sandwich for this amount of money (and fries with it to) go to Ter Marsh and order the planted-based Natural Happiness, which I think you will enjoy so much more!!!
