Siriporn Thais Restaurant — Restaurant in Rotterdam

I usually don't like to give (bad) reviews but my experience at this restaurant was quite below-par. And I've seen from the reviews that some have had a similar experience.

The waiter/server was pretty emotionally distant (maybe he had a bad day), the first plate of food took over an hour to reach the table (it took an additional 7-8 minutes for my meal to reach after my partner's) and the food tasted quite plastic-like and bland (tofu and fried rice + beef and fried rice dishes). I don't often feel the need to add salt to anything but this food required it to be bearable. My beer glass also heavily carried the scent of bleach, which was quite unpleasant. I would say that the atmosphere was slightly better but also not great. A bit old school with gentle music humming in the background.

It seems like the place has been run the same way for many many years without much change, which can be endearing. But the feeling I get here is that the couple who run the place need more staff to have things run at a more acceptable pace and to keep their service warm and fresh. They could be dealing with something behind the scenes of course, but I can only relay my experience on this given day. Offering no option to pay by card could also be off-putting to some.

I unfortunately felt quite dissatisfied and unwilling to part with my money at the end of my evening. I had hoped this experience was a one-off but it seems my partner and I were not the first to experience this given some of the other...

I wish I could rate the food, but the waiting time was a disaster. The place is cash only and we were informed about it at the beginning. Not convenient, but ok, we were hungry, so we ordered the food and one of us went to get the cash. Apart from us there were a couple more tables. We saw that people are getting food one by one, not all at once, strange but ok, we were waiting. After about an hour of waiting the waiter told us that they need to serve one more table and then it will be our turn. If only we knew that in the first place we would left immediately. Unfortunately we were waiting in vain and when we resigned and got out all other places nearby were closing. Definately do not recommend this place unless you have a couple hours. The food might be good but the service...

It's an okay old skool thai restaurant. owners are friendly...when you step in it literally feels like you're walking 30 years back in the past (time stopped in this restaurant) even with no way to pay by card? the owner says you can pay by cash only...which restaurant doesn't accept cards nowadays... Thai curry is just not really my kind of thing but i decided to try it anyways...the curry is always too "watery" for my taste but i get that it is thai style...but it's quite cheap to eat here so if you're wallet ain't big and you want to eat properly the pad thai, curry will definitely...
