Restaurant De Smaak van Afrika — Restaurant in Rotterdam

Absolutely amazing food, this was our first experience with any sub-saharan african food and I cannot recommend this place enough! For reference we had the Jolof Rice, Gord Gord and Kitfo. (Jolof rice not pictured)

Food overall is not very expensive for Rotterdam, especially seeing the quantity you get (not to any detrement of the quality!) For the beer-lovers, they have several flavours which are not too common and are very tasty.

Service was great, the waiter assisted us in our choice of food and told us the proper way to eat the food.

Finally, the atmosphere of the restaurant is immaculate. While the outside isnt too great, the inside is leagues better, its more tightly packed than usual restaurants are which gives a very coze feeling.

Overall, I would definitely come here again to try many more of their...

From very first moment we were amazed by all deco and everything around us! Restaurant is small but also very cosy, we enjoyed our time there✨

Waited 15 minutes after getting a table to get a menu. I had to get it myself because they totally forgot about us. After we ordered they made us wait for an 45 min and they just brought drinks and forgot our food. I asked about if they took our order and they just went to ask and never came back to give us a situation report . I go there 15 minutes later and they totally forgot about everything.
