Their beer is great and the ambience incredible. I went there on a Tuesday and they had a couple people sitting outside. Sat down, nothing happened for 10 minutes. Fair enough, moving inside, straight to the bar. Quick chat with the fella at the bar and did order a pint and food. They had five people at the bar and one lad sitting at a booth. How do I know it so specific? Well, I ordered a pint and food....I did ask if I could sit down at a booth and they would bring the order, to which the bartender said they would do so. 10...20...30...40 minutes went by and the ordered burger came. I have checked around by then if I did something wrong. Great! Unliked the guests right at the bar who did endevour their 2nd, 3rd and one his 4th pint while I was there (one per 10 minutes...damn bruv, solid), I was still waiting for my 1st. Food came and I asked the server where my pint is. Solid 7 minutes later he did bring it around and said "sorry man". If it was a busy day, tough stuff, can happen. You had to attend to like 10 people at most and they failed to serve a pint within 47 minutes. 10 or 20 minutes, okay, first time. But 47 minutes to draft a pint. Do I need to spill it out or catch my drift yourself?
If you think I mean harm for them, just look at the stars and move on. The food was good! Basic burger, not trying to be the next great thing. It did the job, bit overpriced but still tasty and not too fatty. Would recommend it blindly for anybody asking for a tasty bite in Den Haag.
Their service was incredibly poor though. Food was done, pint was empty and to think somebody would come by to ask if I wanted another or pay, was apparentely too much to ask for. They did ask the lads on the table next to me, who just arrived what they wanted to drink though. Turned his back to me right away before I could signal anything. A lady came by to light the candle on the table. I did ask if I could pay and she took my payment and the tip I left out of generousity. I did notice she was new there and while she took the payment, you could tell she was rather embarrassed as she did notice how I was waving at the older staff guy who just ignored me - either because of his red eye habbit or just unwillingness to work. Seriously speaking, I had ONE of their own branded beer. I would have loved to taste another, but gave up. Why the frick would I invest into them, if NONE of the people there would invest barely more than they...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I had in a pub in The Hague. The guy that was behind the bar was really nice, I have nothing to say about hm. I asked for a Guinness and the keg run out just before reaching the top of the glass. The guy told me to wait after a while I just said to the other girls behind the counter if I just could have my beer as it was and they just started shouting back sole bullshit like “i cannot give the glass as it is for policy reason” and every time I try to find a solution she just shouted some thing different back. as soon as the guy came back he just handed me the beer no problem so I don’t understand why for this drama. I don’t know what was the problem but this pub should look better into who it’s working and how they are acting becouse my experience here was miserable even more that the girls that...
Read moreDisgusting service. We went for a football match and one of the employees, who wasn’t working that day, started to taking a piss of people from the opposite team. He confronted a girl and escalated it. In the incident of the match, when he wasn’t working, he started laughing and telling the girl to shut up and sit down, and doing obscene gestures. Then, the next day we came to Fiddler, he came to us when he was working at the terrace, and told us that before ordering we had to apologise for our behaviour, being him the other part involved but without recognising it. It is not acceptable to treat costumers this way, showing power when you are working without recognising your actions when you were off the shift. It gives a bad image to a bar where we have enjoyed a lot of moments, and we won’t be coming again...
