We tried VIP based on someone's recommendation claiming it to be real Italian pizza (not common in Den Hague). Place was really crowded which usually is a good sign. I ordered the calzone with additional filling, we asked for two glasses of water we got a bottle which was almost 5 EUR. The girl opened it so we said fine rather than sending it back. My calzone was the biggest disappoinment ever. It was so dry I'm almost certain they forgot the pizza sauce... Everything was pretty much in the middle but it was so dry it just sucked and difficult to cut. When the waiter asked how was our meal I told him not good which can clearly be seen as I didn't eat my calzone but he pretty much just picked up our plates and completely ignored my saying the calzone was not good. 12 euros (my portion) in the garbage and I'll never return to this place or recommend it. The calzone at Pizza Marino is much better. Serves me right for not reading reviews first. Had I read other ppl's reviews here I would have never...
Read moreMe and my friends went to eat here for a birthday and we brought our own cake as a gift. We requested to keep the cake in the fridge and they agreed and warned us there was a fee but didn't tell us how much. We sat down and about an hour into the meal, a server comes to us and explains that the fee is 2.50€ per person, there were six of us. We agreed since it was too late to say no and when it was time for dessert, we asked for them to bring the cake out. They put down plates and forks for all of us and the cake with candles lit. I feel that 2.50€ per person is a bit unfair since we asked them to just keep the cake and use their plates, they also didn't give us a knife to cut the cake.
I'm aware that this isn't the servers fault but the price just seemed unfair. We paid a total of 15€ to keep a cake in the fridge, too excessive don't you think?
Apart from that experience, the service was slow but the...
Read moreThe food is good but the service is horrible, you have to ask for everything, no one comes to check if you want a drink or even for your initial order, you always have to flag someone down. The food was also finished too quick within 3 minutes of us ordering. We just got our bread and had our first slice, when the food was ready and on our table. In the end we didn't have desert because we had to wait about 15 minutes after asking for the desert menu to flag someone down instead of them checking up on us. Finally even though it was my partner that ask for the bill and it was her that intent to pay, the waitress came over and handed me the bill and ask how I would like to pay, which is insulting to my partner. So to sum it up, if you just want quick food it's good, if you don't want to be flagging people down all evening, it's...
