Food not that great, way too packed and very rude personnel. And I'm Dutch; I don't think people are rude quite often. We chose to let the chef deside, but we did let them know that half of us don't eat meat. When they brought a second double portion of a meat dish we reminded them of that, and the waitress responded very rudely. Maybe she didn't understand us before (eventhough we asked in Dutch and English) in a very noisy place, but that is not our fault. When we asked for a fourth portion(because the advised 3 is not enough, she had to make another bitchy remark if we wanted it vegetarian 'this time'.
In a tapas restaurant with a "let the chef choose"-offer you'd expect them to bring a variety of tapas dishes, not serve double portions of everything when 1 is easily devidable with the whole group.
The place is way too crowded. They did nothing to improve the acoustics (and I know a lot of invisible or unobtrusive affordable options for that place). The way to packed place and bad acoustic resulted in not being able to understand everyone at your table. Also we had to wait quite long for different portions, drinks and the bill, si apparently they couldn't handle that many guests (that evening). Oh and the toilets are really small by the way.
They had a new guy working there, looked like his very first week. I can imagine if it's busy you don't take the time to coach him that much but this was something worse. You don't citisize your staff in the presence of your guests, that's unnecessary heavy and rude on him, and you should say sorry to him if you where wrong. I don't know the guy but I just think that's not how you should treat people.
I hope you guys take this feedback in account, because I love tapas and I don't think the place will make it if people never come back a 2nd time or suggest...
Read moreDo not come here please. As a Spanish person this restaurant feels like an absolute robbery. They charge 5,50€ for olives which I’m sure they buy a container in bulk… I ordered the tinto the verano that was so awful I couldn’t even finish half of it unfortunately. I also ordered the croquetas which according to them are “home made” this is obviously not true if you have had decent croquetas in the past it is easy to tell that the ones they serve here are absolutely not home made like they claim to be. The ones I was served were still even frozen on the inside. Overall I’m giving it two stars because the servers were very kind and attentive and the restaurant is well decorated, but for the rest please don’t come here if you are expecting high quality spanish food, you will get below average quality with sky high pricing. Better to actually go to Spain and eat there than spend your money on their mediocre tapas. Not sure where all the positive reviews come from, but if you are spanish you will be very disappointed to eat here. I’m still waiting on an authentic good spanish restaurant in the hague. No...
Read moreWe had a fantastic dinner at Triana last night and wanted to share our experience!
Everything we ordered was delicious. The padron peppers offered a fun mix of mild and spicy, and the alcachofas (artichokes) were perfectly cooked and flavorful. The gambas (shrimp) were fresh, and the jamón croquetas were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside.
We also enjoyed some sherry - Manzanilla was crisp and refreshing - which paired perfectly with the tapas. To finish off the meal, we shared a Crema Catalana and a balanced cortado.
The service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting (also practiced some Spanish :). We highly recommend Triana for a delicious and authentic...
