As far as dining experiences go, this was highly mediocre. We ate here on a Saturday evening. The entire place was empty and we suspect there were only two people actually working the restaurant.
One of us ordered the salmon, but within 5 minutes we got the message that they were out of salmon. This seemed odd to us given we were the only people in the restaurant and it was a Saturday evening, typically one of the busiest evenings. But okay, the order was changed to satay. Unfortunately, the food was mediocre at worst and basic at best. The satay was dried out, clearly having been put under a heating light for a considerable amount of time. The schnitzel was borderline burnt at the bottom. The other two dishes were fine but nothing out of the ordinary.
We did decide to go for desserts and coffee. However, after ordering, it turns out they only had decaf coffee for 1 cup. The other two of us that ordered decaf coffee were out of luck. This was kind of the straw that broke the camel's back and truly soured our mood. How do you not have enough coffee in an empty restaurant on a Saturday evening?? And the desserts... A bare brownie and a bare slice of cheesecake. It really doesn't get more...
Read moreIt seems the staff had had some troubles in the morning because when we showed up at around 13:00 they were just opening up the shop. I don't know what was going on behind the scenes, and I don't really blame the staff, but we didn't recieve our sandwiches (2nd "course" after having a soup) until about 2 hours later. They seemed to be understaffed because it took quite long for everyone in the shop top recieve their food, but people who entered the shop am hour later than us ended up receiving their food before we even did, so that was a little bit disappointing :( They did not have the soup of the day, so unfortunately we had no choice in soup although that was supposed to be part of the Social Deal that we got. Last time I was here I remember getting better service so I hope whatever was found on today will not affect their future services, because the food itself was...
Note, dit was rond 18.00 uur.
