Boslust Cafe Restaurant — Restaurant in Utrecht

Extremely poor service. Staff are so rude. Waiters were two young girls hanging around on their phones while we were waiting to order. When they eventually came to our table, I asked for a sandwich and to have it toasted. She said ‘we only have a toasted sandwich maker for toasted sandwich options on the menu’. I asked her if she could use the sandwich maker to toast mine and she replied ‘we don’t have time for that!’ And not to mind, but we were the only 2 customers in there at the time. We asked for ketchup too and she brought over one little sachet of ketchup between 2 of us and threw it on the table. Then I asked for a straw for my drink, which she also threw at me. There was not one smile between the two of them. Food was only average too. Would not recommend wasting your time and money...

Cozy cafe with nice service. Staff came across as attentive and helpful. The food was OK. Across Saté, Salmon, Boslust Burger and Vega Burger, only the burger buns were somewhat boring, near supermarket style.

The desserts were similarly good, but with hiccups: Chocolate was cake of the day and was a success. The dame blanche was a home run as well. Like the burger buns, unfortunately, the tiramisu seemed like something that could have come from a supermarket:

It was mostly just cake with whipped cream. There was very little taste of the bitterness of coffee or the touch alcohol, which must be part of any half-decent tiramisu.

So, it could have been really good overall, but the food experience fell flat and should be easy to improve on. Next...

Food was good but service not. When you say you want the meat to be cooked good you say it for a reason,but it seemed like the waiter is careless to pass the message. The starter didn't come and felt like being ignored....you have to ask 3 times for the drinks to arrive. Pity as is a nice place to eat but with this service I doubt that will come again. We would have wanted to eat also desert but we skipped as we were not well treated...one of the few times that I decided not to give tip, in general I give...
