Toque Toque Foodcafé — Restaurant in Utrecht

I went here two times. The first time I ordered drinks and food, I think I waited for half an hour before my applejuice arrived and then another half an hour before my food arrived. The waitress was very grumpy with us when we waved her over. The food was good. The other time (today) I again waited half an hour before my hot chocolate arrived, but we had to ask someone to take our order after 10 minutes and ofcourse she was grumpy again. Then after 25 minutes she said the hot chocolate could’t be made, because the machine was broken. Then something happend and she left, after 5 minutes her colleague brought the hot chocolate? I wanted to make sure to write a review for Toque Toque as we had an amazing night and service at the location after being mistreated and denied in another bar. I got in with a 7 people group that was denied to have drinks in another bar, and the staff, specially Lars and his colleague, made sure we had a table and put together a space for all of us to seat together. Obviously with 7x people you have a lot of orders and he attended us super well and created amazing drinks for everyone. After a while we had more 5x people joining and Lars and Toque Toque continue to make sure we had a great night. Thank you so much and I'll def come back! Kudos to Lars for the patience...

My partner and I woke up with a terrible stomach ache this morning. Nice staff but terrible, tasteless food. The food did not taste fresh AT ALL. Cerviche that was just chopped up seafood with a random flavouring, pousin so pale in colour and greasy, chimichurri that just tasted like grass, and the steak was disgusting. I urge if you put foreign food on your menu to learn its authentic flavours, especially when you’re charging approx €20 for a plate.
