Utrecht can be considered as my second home due to the frequent work related visits. Just as I would expect at home, India Port Restuarant and Happy bhai, the owner, serves me simple yet top class food on my each visit as per my request. Food is amazing and it is probably one of the "best Indian restaurants in the Utrecht" which is suitable to all palates. My Indian, British and local Dutch colleagues can vouch for that.
The restaurant delivers on great taste and flavours, and their parathas and butter chicken is mindblowing.
Rewind two years ago - On my very first visit to Utrecht it just took me an hour or so to scroll through reviews of all the local Indian restaurants in Utrecht and based on a few positive comments from fellow Indians I ended up here. Rest is history! I hope this review helps someone find a hidden gem in Utrecht, just as I found reading someone's review. If you can, then try to pay a visit once to "India Port in Utrecht" to embark on a new journey that takes...
Read moreI feel there should be a zero star rating for such restaurants. The experience was horrible. We have ordered very simple vegetarian food and it took them ages to bring the food (1 hour and 40mins). After waiting for so long, we got chicken biryani instead of veg biryani. I called the waitress to address the issue and she checked with the fork right in front of me and she said ‘Yes, Navratna biryani is a Chicken biryani’. Then she somehow realized Navratna biryani is supposed to be a Veg one. They replaced the food but again took 30mins more. Our friend who has asked for the less spicy butter chicken got full of spice in his dish. We requested to pack the remaining food and she got a box and packed the food from bowl to box in front of us. She asked a guy from next table to fix a tube light where he was sitting, threw water on his pants🤣
Waiting period - ages, for us it too 1:40mins (0 star) Waitress - rude and zero hospitality (1 star) Food - check before you eat (1 star) Table...

Finding authentic Indian food while traveling through Europe can be a challenge, but this restaurant was a delightful surprise! From the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality and inviting aroma made us feel like we were back in India.
Each dish was a perfect balance of rich spices and fresh ingredients — all the dishes were absolutely divine. The naan was soft and perfectly charred.
What truly stood out was the care in preparation and the passion of the staff & the owner. They were not only attentive but eager to make sure every guest felt welcomed and satisfied.
Whether you're an Indian missing home or someone wanting to experience real Indian flavors, this place is a must-visit. A hidden gem that deserves all the praise.
We left with full hearts and fuller stomachs. Will definitely return on our next trip!
Thank you...
